What would TexPat know...?

RR has nothing to prove, especially to a jilted fanboi.

Hey, I wonder why BPC hasn't created a new account to weigh in? I think maybe he's busy trying to get a vial of Wigans' ball sweat from a saddle or something.

I am not so sure of RRs credentials I think he just gets most of his cycling news from the Detroit Gazette.

Too bad he doesn't have a history stretching back many years, over different forums, where the information he provided—YEARS before most people even had a clue—turned out to be entirely accurate.

If only there was a track record of revealing what was very much "insider information" then we would have something to go on.

Is Race Radio infallible?
Of course not.

Do I agree with everything he posts?
Nope.

Does he have a foundation built upon sharing information that turns out to be true that would also otherwise be completely unavailable to most people on this forum?
Yes. Absolutely.

You can pretend otherwise, of course.

But hey, don't take my word for it.

About the bolded part, and the response from several other posters about my post...

Sorry you stooped to the "pretending" card. The import of my post and others posting about the claims of Mr. Race Radio was that his posts had no substance, backup, links, etc. As you so thoughtfully mentioned, and as many Clinic denizens are aware, Mr. Race Radio is not infallible. And as you point out, his history on cycling forums has been informative and appreciated by the cycling community.

Mr. Race Radio has been pointedly asked several times in the recent kerfluffle in this thread (regarding the recent interview with Mr. George Hincapie) about his posts and claims regarding approaches to journalists. I have not seen a response from him, only from others.

Perhaps one day Mr. Race Radio will respond to those posts. As I have previously mentioned, if that response is of the ilk of "Trust Me", then the forum will know that there will be no details forthcoming, and they should judge his claims based on his reputation and their opinion as to whether he himself has an agenda.

You are wrong as always, RR's posts as usual are the result of insider scuttlebutt, so no links, no "backup", but as usual plenty of substance.
Out of 100 times of you telling me something and RR telling me something different, I think I'd go with RR 99 times. OK, make that 100, I was just trying to insert a little controversy.

The only problem with your logic is that I have never "told" you, or anyone else here, "something" in this thread.

The elements of discussion (civilised or other) may sometimes include the tendency to question the utterances of others. I hope you can agree that that element is not precluded in this Clinic subforum.

And the problem with your logic is that you are perfectly entitled to "tell" us "something" - and indeed others would be rightly entitled to query you.

And if you failed to backup your claim people are then free to choose whether your claim is valid or not.

As I said to my colourblind friend once;

"When I see red, what colour do you see?"

"Red" he said.

"But my red is different from your red" I replied.

"Perhaps, but it's still red".

Have you just come back from a Buddhist retreat?
I'm liking the new chilled out Hog...

You guys are killing me. lol. It is not the fuqing Detroit Gazette. It is the Detroit Free Press. A once fine, proud publication that fired all its employees, hired some back at reduced wages or replaced by hacks like this reporter and merged with the Detroit News to form two sh!tty newspapers.

Felt I had to clear that up. :)

And y'all are welcome to visit the D and get a tour. Lots of good things happening here. Seriously

Just passing the peace pipe!

The point is that people see things through their own eyes. Hincapie says what he sees by his own experiences and loyalties.

As does RR and the A's.

They see the same thing but it's just shaded by their own loyalty.

Hincapie is not about to retract his statements. And neither is anybody else.

Armstrong is a special case. He's doesn't apply to any of this!

Exactly. It was a play on words because no one has ever heard of newspaper and will never hear of it again!

No offence :)

I looked at houses there a year or so back just out of curiosity, and the level of house you could buy for a VERY reasonable price was astounding.

Glad to hear things are looking up though.

But it was not just Armstrong. People are getting upset about the truth being told, and RR is doing a spin job on some straightforward statements by Hincapie. If the truth makes Armstrong's dope use look more excusable--and it will because because everyone who was anyone in the sport was doping--then so be it.

Very interesting thread. This post nails it. The likes of Hincapie should be allowed to talk about how they saw it without people using underhand tactics against them. He only said what we all presumed to be true anyway, didn't he? Without Betsy, Frankie would have stayed in the team and on the program. Who doesn't believe that? The case against Armstrong is good enough without all these smear tactics and conspiracy theories about people who tell the truth about the wider situation.
