As usual Betsy is spot on.

http://cyclingtips.com.au/2014/06/a...-of-testimony-from-armstrongs-sca-deposition/

we should do a poll on how many times he says ‘I don’t remember’ and ‘I don’t recall’, and the person who comes closest gets a ten dollar gift certificate for Dunkin Donuts [laughs]. I seriously don’t think he is going to tell the truth.”

On of the key reasons Lance cannot tell the truth is because so many people lied for him for so long. I would add Kevin, Jeff Spencer, and a few others to this list

“In Craig Nichols’ case, he signed an affidavit and said he never asked Lance any questions [about doping as a possible cause of his cancer]. So the doctor can get in trouble. Then you have Stephanie McIlvain, who according to [the book] Wheelmen did not tell the truth under oath. She gets in trouble. Then her company, Lance’s sponsor Oakley is drawn into this – what does the sponsor know?

“It’s a pandora’s box of people who lied to protect Lance. They could all get in trouble.”

i dont think this is the correct reason you are implying. He is not protecting them because they helped with the myth creation, the 7 days myth, cancer jesus myth.

more so, if it was expedient Lance would not protect them versus having the option of throwing them under the bus. They would be the busthrowundery offcast.

he protects them, cos they can still do him more damage, cos they know where the bodies are buried to exhume. there would be alot of collateral damage for all there, even when they did deals and sung like canaries as states witness

betsy is really cheap collateral damage for lance, and lance has never recognised the collateral adjective/qualifier wrt damage. Betsy was just damage. Betsy was just damage Lance could liver with cos she offered him nuthin. nuffin i tell ya

Guaranteed somewhere out in the ether there's been several PGP OCS chats bending a story into shape for the least damage.

Suggest there is a "war room" at Armstrong HQ on this one. The walls are closing in very tightly.

Great word.

I think it is a mix of many different elements. Some can damage his quest for a comeback in the public eye, some could just get crushed, some could implicate him in criminal charges.

It is a mess, unraveling it will be ugly

How far do you think it will unravel?

that is the creation of Dear Wiggo, his credit, not mine. thought it hit a threshold of popularity/meme so i did not have to reference DW.

and yes, it is a suit of factors, a confluence and dovetail or all those for Prance's motive

i may have used license with busthrowundery.

gotta luv those german portmanteus. they might have given us ullrich and rostock sports graduation school, but they gave us the portmanteu.

I am asking how far reaching...not Armstrong, but big players behind Armstrong....and not the likes Comichal or McIllvain who are small fry. Although I would like Comichal to get fried, dont care much for McIllvain......

I don't buy the "Lance is caring for others" motivation. Lance's only goal is to enjoy his fortune for as long as he can. That explains his delay tactics better than anything else.

The idea that others may "have something" on Lance that isn't just their word and doesn't relate to time barred stuff is just airy speculation.

I just can't imagine Lance caring about preserving human relationships for the future.

That would be inconsistent.

Holding one over on someone, yes. Caring? Not in his lexicon.

So if Lance pressured people to lie under oath or obstruct an investigation within the last 5 years would be time barred?

One of the elements of both the SCA case and the Qui Tam case is the involvement of various groups in power in enabling multiple aspect of lance's fraud. Expect more on this. The result? Not sure

Might not be time-barred, but extremely unlikely to result in prosecution. Can you even dream up a realistic scenario where Lance would get prosecuted for anything? (Hint: Snark is not a crime.)

Yes, obstruction.

And more to the point. Will it be unwound by the time the unwinding of FroomeLLP starts??

Frankie never saw Lance dope, right?

Look at Frankie's affidavit then look at the other affidavits then roll your eyes. Huge difference. Not being part of it meant not knowing who did what and seeing who did what.

And Granville, I'm sure once Tillotson starts pronouncing our name correctly, he'll start spelling it incorrectly e.g. AndreAu. ;)
