Armstrong has given up the fact that he could ever compete again. He knew that the only way that he could get his ban reduced was to talk to USADA, so there's no way he would tesify under oath. His life as he knows it is over.

Right now he's just being a baby that he's against the agency that destroyed his career/life. It's hard to believe this guy can be any type of role model to anyone.

USADA doesn't need him. Armstrong can never tell the whole truth whoever he talks to anyway, so there's no point to hear any more stories from him. We at the clinic knows the truth, that's enough. As long as he suffers for the rest of his life, I'm satisfied.

Competing again was simply lower on the totem pole than staying out of jail and/or losing substantially all of his money.

Shows just how little class he's got.
Up to the courts to decide how much of his fortune he'll be able to keep. Their business now.
Won't spend a calorie on him anymore. Good riddance!

Of course there is absolutely no surprise here.

Armstrong's paid thugs don't appear to realise that the jig is up, they are on the losing side. Their ridiculous press releases aren't helping Armstrong's credibility, they are just confirming what a turd he is and what lowlifes they are.

I think it's just a way for him to justify not talking to USADA. "We said we'll talk to an international tribunal, but there isn't one, so we're not gonna talk because USADA has no jurisdiction blah blah blah."

What is this "international tribunal" thing that Armstrong keeps harping about? Since there is no such entity, does he think it will all be organized on his behalf?

Of course! He'll be the tribunal's champion too. Beating all those other tribunals.. ??!!???!!!:p

He must be hiding some really bad, jail time, felony stuff to not set the cat amongst the pigeons over at USADA.

In all seriousness, this sets him up beautifully for the next scam. Whatever form it takes you can believe it will be worse than this one and this one isn't even half over. I'm genuinely looking forward to the next scam.

Anyone got any news on the UCI's meeting regarding their new schemes? The one that had the "red thread" or whatever B.S. they used.

So with Lance Armstrong no longer intending to co-operate with the USADA, does this clear the way for the the USADA to commence the prosecutions against Johann Bruyneel et al?

Simply catering to his audience, whatever remains of it. At this point, it doesn't even include Joe Sixpack.

Perhaps it is a PR ploy for a potential jury. Though, while he wouldn't be past such a strategy - who cares.

Even if just a PR strategy succeeded in making a potential jury member sympathetic, any decent prosecution would destroy that immediately when they point out that

1. There is professional cycling in the US
2. Lance doped while on the US Olympic team and while riding for the US Postal Service
3. Lance is an American
4. The US authorities (e.g. USADA) are in charge*

*Kind of like pursuing tax evasion when not reporting your worldwide income to the IRS

Anyone stupid enough to fall for this PR nonsense would be quickly disabused of Lance's honesty when confronted with any one of the above observations.

This is just a natural conclusion to his mobius of logic. When he was challenged in the 90's it was by "jealous French" fans, cyclists...whatever. Now that the truth is known he has no choice but to embrace a higher, unnamed and fictitious authority.
He'll be able to claim that international Tribunal "never....tested him positive....wasn't part of a Witch hunt". If he repeats it enough he can convince himself that he's still an "international" hero.
Tim Herman has to be a good poker player to issue these statements without any sign of humor.

It seems that Armstrong, despite all the wealth etc, lacks one thing that most of us all have.

Not the usual, he's a liar, sociopath, cheater....

He hasn't got the close friends that, if any of us carried on trying to get through this as he still is, would sit us down for the "don't be a W@**er* all your life" speech.

I don't feel sorry for him regarding the doping etc at all. But it must be awfully lonely in that corner that they're helping him paint himself into.

I think he still believes he is on a pinnacle, rather than in a corner. Seriously; he thinks he could beat all of those guys if they'd all been clean.

someone who still believes the Livestrong angle posted this in another forum.
I don't know who this guy is, but he appears to be part of the problem, at least in America-
Justifying Lances lies because of the

"500 million dollars for cancer RESEARCH..." as the crowd cheers.

Also

"... doing whatever it takes to get to the next level.."

"....he's not hurting anybody.."

"... our roided up guy beat your roided up guy.." to huge crowd applause.

Those people are the minority now, fortunately. All they have to do is open their eyes.

That's what I expected too, so was suppprised by the large crowd applause.. very disappointing.

Yep. Sounds like a load of old fashioned double-talk.

Most folks think it's a simple matter of every athlete taking a pill with their Wheaties to "level the playing field." Ain't so in the real world.

Have you guys had a sense of humour bypass? He was taking the mickey out of Oprah and the charade, FFS. It wasn't meant seriously. Jeez!

What the hell is an "international tribunal" and what in the bloody blue hell does that have to do with cycling?

BTW, love the "USADA has no jurisdiction" nonsense, they do but someone hasn't informed Wonderboy yet.

Hold on there. Bill Burr is a funny guy, one of my favs. His Oprah facial expression was spot on. But we were remarking on the public perception of PEDs and the level playing field.

I go back to what I posted days ago..."It is obvious he is marshalling the Lance-Lovers to help him throw off the'un-fair'(like he ever was fair) yoke of sin he's been saddled with by the wicked witch from the west, Tygart. He, by force of his will and that of his Lance-Lovers, will cause there to be a TRUE 'Truth-Reconciliation Commision' run by those he has shielded with his holy body, the heroic UCI. He will testify THERE and THERE ALONE, in defiance of the mighty, evil, tax money wasting Tygart. And he shall be blessed, as he continues to shield those holy men, by none other than Saint McQuad. And his thorney crown of guilt/suspension will be lifted from his rightous shoulders by that UCI, as they will be expatiated by those they ALLOW to confesses, what THEY allow to be confessed. "I STILL think I'm spot on...

Add that:

The only reason he will be "first through the door" is that he will not only be the ONLY one through the door, but the UCI will again "exonerate" him without any authority whatsoever to do so.
