BroDeal, I agree totally with your post. Let's not forget that Floyd will spend a great deal of time under oath himself, and people like Andy may end up suprised, not only where a great deal of the FFF money came from, but the idea also.

Only when he'd run out of options. If he'd had guts, he'd have ripped the lid off the can of worms when he got busted in 2006. Instead, he carried on lying and cheating for several more years.

Whilst he's a fascinating character and the man largely responsible for the demise of Lance, Floyd and the moral high ground currently remain strangers. He can redeem himself if he wins the case, though, by paying off his debts and giving the rest to charity - preferably not Livestrong, though!

Could this be the final nail in the coffin for our dear friend Pat to finally get the hook from UCI, if Wonderboy keeps flapping his beak? It will eventually come out about Pat, Wonderboy even said so. Wonder if Bruynell is on a long ride off a short pier as we speak, maybe Pat will join him?

For you legal minds, I have a question. Since it has been stated in the past, that the Feds could have gone after LA alone for the entire sum, leaving it up to him to sue the remaining members of Tawind for their due share, if LA and co named defendants loose the qui tam case, and are ordered to pay damages, could they possibly turn around and sue the other riders on the team that participated in the fraud?

So Wiesel gets sued and pays a ton back, only to have part of his FFF contribution reimbursed to him by Floyd with the winnings. This is awesomeness at new heights.

Landis was the catalyst. He had nothing left to lose. What is cared about he had already lost through his own mistakes. He tried to get into cycling again through Armstrong. It was only after he got the cold shoulder from Armstrong that he decided to act. Even then he would not have succeeded as he had zero credibility. Fortunately for him, Hamilton got banned for 8 years and there was one more person who had nothing to lose. When Novitzky got into the act, all the persons named were more frightened of jail time for perjury than of actually getting banned due to the example of Marion Jones. There was no way Vaughters and co would have voluntarily come forward as they had too much to lose. Hence there was corroboration from Hamilton and the other witnesses. Result USADA nailed Armstrong.

Lets not forget. Landis was a cheater. He got what he deserved and maybe more. Look at the other people who have exposed doping. Manzano, Simeoni. They got nothing. Honest cyclists like Bassons got only derision not cold cash. Lemond close to ruination. Kimmage got sued. So it is entirely unfair & absurd that Landis gains millions due to some shrewd lawyer advising him to file a civil suit and his association with Armstrong. I hope at the very least Landis returns the money he took from others for his "POSITIVELY FALSE" defense fund.
I am predicting that Landis will gain even more money with his book "How i nailed Armstrong" in the style of Hamilton. Also Armstrong is going to recoup his losses by writing books like "Every Drop (of blood of course:D) Counts" and "Its not about Bike:2nd Take" and "How to Dope: The LA Way" and a self help "How to Win 7 Tours". You gain money if you are bad because that's what make you newsworthy whereas the good guys get screwed.
Which is why i find the whole episode very sad and depressing.:(

Anyone can sue anyone, right?

Now if he's attempting to rehabilitate his image, that might not be a good thing to do. Also you usually go after the money, right? Most of those guys are probably reasonably set up but I don't think too many of them are wealthy. It just seems like it would be a petty revenge type move, not that he's above that or hasn't done stuff like that in the past.

What would be dramatically more interesting is if he went after some of the corporate sponsors and tried to get them to chip in. I don't know what's true and who knew what and when but a lot of things have been alleged like the sale of bikes and parts for drug money and the use of various jets and private planes and even payments/donations being made that could at least suggest some of their larger sponsors had some knowledge and they profited handsomely too.

It is so much fun watching crooks turn on each other. All Lance had to do was give Floyd a ride after Floyd's suspension ended, and Lance could have ridden happily off into the sunset. But nooooo . . .

The USPS never, never, never knew until recently that it was the victim of fraud. Lance Armstrong doped his heart out for the USPS team, and gave the brand tremendous negative exposure during the the past few years.

Samson knew full well that when he brought down the Philistine's temple, it was going to be coming down around his ears. FLandis knew, best case, he was going to be the object of Pharmstrong's considerable vitriol for years before the Qui Tam possibly could bear fruit (or grant him relief).

Today Pharmstrong is a disgraced and crestfallen ex-professional athlete who can't get puppies to play with him unless he ties a lamb chop around his neck, so it can be easy to forget that when FLandis undertook this fight, His Lanceness still was cycling's Teflon Don. The tides still bowed to his will. There was no guarantee any of this could be made to stick, which would have left FLandis up ***'s creek without a paddle in perpetuity.

Kimmage and Walsh and the Andreaus and Emma O'Reilly and the others all played important roles in what has come to pass, but none of them ever were going to get as much "traction" as Flandis did. They none of them ever so much as put a dent in Pharmstrong's teflon armour, and all of them together never were going to be able to pierce it. Floyd might not have fired the shot that did but he damn sure made Tygart a gift of the bullet.

I have no clue what his square-footage is and how it's set up, but my guess is whatever razor-thin margins the place was operating on got a whole lot skinnier sometime last year.

Regarding the last Guardian story,
which spent about $40m in sponsor money and gave Armstrong $17m.
Everyone but armstrong was living on minimum wage? No wonder Floyd was complaining about no equipment.
