Why does Emma have to be a schill just because she elected to move on.

Emma has every right (and, it seems, inclination) to move on. She helped expose Lance's doping, was (at times) shattered by the fallout, eventually developed conflicting emotions, whilst sticking by her main principles, sought some reconciliation, piece and closure. That's all pretty human; she makes no excuses for her transitions. Betsy's gonna do her own thing. Fine. She can even pray for Emma's lost soul, if she wants.

Bingo. I couldn't have stated it better myself.

Not so bingo..most people do not give a rat's about lance..he's old stuff..
the rest of us who care to comment on him are dedicated to outing his lies and correcting his mistaken assumption that he can rewrite his own sordid history.

Anyway..do not agree

Yeah but Hog, you are forgetting that Walsh cost his newspaper a cool million sterling.

He called Emma's testimony 'this is christmas'....why would it not be christmas to other journalists. What a way to make a name for yourself, busting the golden goose as a fraud!

Walsh started in '99 on the Armstrong story. Not too many doing that.

Walsh is a sports journalist, not a cycling journalist.

He may not be the greatest journalist out there, but he stuck with the Armstrong fraud for a long time, when it wasn't profitable in any way.

This is the wrong thread to kick Walsh and those who do are making life a little sweeter for ol Monkeymouth.

Hog be careful you are morphing into the clinics gimp.

Walsh may have lost his marbles over Sky...but without his digging and insistence Lance may still be sneering at everyone in his false 'glory'.
Get over your Walsh obsession just like you are pimping others here to get over Emma, Betsy and the others in the saga?

Something that you never said before Armstrong's fall.

Fast forward to you disagreeing with him on Sky and now you say it.

Revisionism based on disliking his opinion elsewhere.

imo, to keep on talking about lance is not productive for anything other than walsh's wallet.
meanwhile walsh is covering for a new generation of cyclists who use lance as the ideal scapegoat to deflect away from their own lie.

If your picturing me in a gimp suit the I think that's says a lot to your mental health than mine.

$125m? What's that got to do with it anything. It's how one acquires their gains than how much.

Clearly your not here to debate in a sensible fashion.

Armstrong's incessant opponents need him, in order to stay relevant.
When he is forgotten, they will be too.

Who are these people?

LeMond is working for Eurosport. He seldom talks about Lance. All of his episodes are online, check them out

When was the last time you read and interview with Floyd or Tyler?

Armstrong clearly has targeted Betsy, but the only time you hear her is when a reporter calls to get her opinion of Lance, or his proxies,' latest smear

Walsh has move on to his new love, Sky.

Here is my twitter feed.....lots of bike racing, little Lance.
https://twitter.com/TheRaceRadio/with_replies

When was the last time the guys at NYVelocity, who produced many excellent interviews on the topic, talked about him?

When was the last time Travis, JV, VDV, or Dave Z talked about Lance?

Frankie does daily reports from the Tour, Cali, and other races.....when does he talk about lance?

While Lance, and his proxies, try to write revisionist history the collective response has been yawn

What did Walsh pay in exchange for Emma's story? Anybody know?

According to Emma's affidavit to USADA, she was not initially paid for her interview with David Walsh. But after complying with repeated requests to proof-read drafts, final drafts, and Walsh's request for her to do interviews to promote the book, she felt that she should be compensated for all the extra she was doing.

Walsh and his co-author, Pierre Ballester agreed to pay her £5,000, which she accepted as compensation for her efforts.

So she wasn't exactly paid for her "story," but rather for the subsequent work that followed her initial interview.

But here you are, analysing every move Lance makes to death. Lance cant even take a dump without you noticing, and you would probably find a way to hate him for that too.

Gentle(wo)men,
I know there are few more divisive people than Lance, but please, try and desist from attacking each other.

It's not worth it.

As mewmew said, stick to outting the lies and revisionist history.

Cheers

ah, now there's a familiar looking cat

have to say on this that being the "bike guy" at the office and amongst friends/family I grew tired of being constantly asked about LA loooong ago. Although, I'm happy to pop bubbles on the pr1ck

I'm really just hanging out to see the result of both the SCA case and the upcoming Qui Tam - preferrably with the result most of us here want to see.

really not interested in this Emma sidestory/smokescreen/distraction - she danced with the devil and got burnt. As to why she's getting up to the music again, that's up to her

not what i meant to say. I was pointing merely at walsh.
HIS going on about lance, milking the story, the tweets, the movies, the talks, god knows what (is he selling t-shirts already?) is just highly annoying.
in here i think there is very productive discussion and info being presented and rightly so because the usps/lance story is intriguing and instructive on many levels.
but walsh, with the levels of hypocricy he's showing, imo, has lost all authority on the matter and would be wise to let it rest.

Why does Emma have to be a schill just because she elected to move on. It sounds like she's trying to put the last 10 years of her life into perspective and come to grips with it. As fans we have an over hyped sensibility on this case but in reality, only Emma/Betsy/Frankie etc were personally effected by this and I accept whatever perspective they come away with. At the end of the day doping had been rampant in the sport for many years and we are picking apart every minute detail of the aftermath of one sliver of that time span which I think is somewhat unfair. It's a little ridiculous for some of us to be unable to accept Emma's position when she lived it for 10 years...

From my perspective which is, in my ever so humble opinion, correct....I venture to say people are sick of lance, sick of what he is doing and just want him to go away. Let him get drunk on his lanceritas in his own backyard without yapping BS to anyone who doesn't know the detail of the story willing to print what he has to say.

It is tiring and seemingly never ending. He is using people just as he tried to use me for the sole purpose of rehabilitating his image. People are sick of him. But what are we to do when he continues to attempt to rewrite history smearing people and outright lying - give him carte blanche?

When I'm attacked, I fight back. That esquire piece wasn't fact checked. The writer decided to believe the words of a pathological liar who couldn't get through the interview without drinking so much he started slurring his words.

So, in short, people are sick of the BS. Like Ger Gilroy from Off the Ball said to Emma, if people see she's all good with lance, then others will say what's the problem? Were he truly genuine, this would all be said and done and he wouldn't still be fighting and trying still to go after people who refuse to be a pawn in his game.

Sadly only Emma and a guy no one had heard off (Scott Mercier) are falling for the BS and he will need a lot more than that to rehabilitate his image.

It aint going to happen and much kudos goes to you Betsy.

I liked what Bassons said about Armstrong.

"I saw a very tired man. He couldn’t look you in the eye whereas back in 1999 he never dropped his gaze. He was scratching the table. He was nervous. He drank two glasses of vodka before the interview and he drank afterwards as well."

This is a man struggling with his lot and on a downward trajectory.

Perversely enough, Lance's Internet haters are doing the "work of Lance" by keeping Lance from being forgotten. Being forgotten reduces Lance to unimportance. The rehabilitation of a forgotten person is an insignificant act.

For Lance, it is better to be hated than forgotten.

What I read is comments that amount to "It turns out Armstrong was very good anyway." kind of message and "haters" debunking that view.

Wonderboy has some kind of strong internal view of himself as "a champion." Being ignored/hated is equally bad.

Lance, we all know you are following along. Become "a champion" of reform and get Thom Wiesel and his assistant Steve Johnson at least banned from the sport. You know far more than some anonymous forum w@nker like me. And I realize that doesn't make any sense in your world view. But, it's the only way back to being "a champion." Fight Wonderboy! Fight!

This is a man struggling with his lot and on a downward trajectory.

Maybe his next book will be titled "It's not about the Booze"

In general, when confronted by people like Armstrong (sociopath? in French we would say "pervers narcissique") he gives the best advice himself: RUN, DON'T WALK.
