Given the mountains of evidence in the Armstrong case it is hardly misguided.

Fanboy's on the jury will not matter as this will never go to trial.

We will see.

Yes, I was discussing the trial jury makeup.
Jury selection is critical for both defense and prosecution.

The trial is going to be amusing if Lance's lawyers knowingly seat some fangirls/fanboys on the jury yikes.

Lance will have his feet up on the defense table.
Shoot spitballs at Novitzsky when his back is turned.
Make funny faces to the jury when the prosecution is talking.

Won't matter if there is at least one fangirl/fanboy on the jury.

"but won't there be a re-trial if there is a hung jury"
Well, get a fanboy on the re-trial jury duh.
"But won't there be a re-re-trial if that one gets hung too?"
Dude, there will be a fanboy there too.
It's fanboys all the way down

....Does a very nice job of underscoring the 'distractions' that continue to populate this thread and this forum.

Dave.

Ah yes, those pesky distractions that occur during debate on a forum about how a trial may go down.

OK, let's say it all together so this thread can be closed: Novitsky is the smartest guy since Einstein, Dave and RR and 10 others in this forum will be on the jury, LA and his team will be totally stupid, there is a mountain of evidence Matlock could not overcome.

I feel much better now getting all of these 'distractions' out of my system. Will we ever get tired of the echo?

From the same essay:

Since Armstrong has failed to acknowledge and act on that which is apparent to nearly all who have followed his career and the sport and who have not succumbed to the fantasy of it all, his advisors must step up and counsel their client to responsibly guide the juggernaut to the side of the road where it can safely come to rest. Any other action in the face of the growing avalanche of evidence, and the blatant disregard and disrespect for the intelligence of the fans and the members of the general public who were courted by his behavior and by his statements, risks the gravest of consequences for their client, for the sport of cycling and most importantly, for those that believed.

Hein and Pat might also want to take notice

Yes, as Sniper just pointed out, the distractions that demonstrate:

"blatant disregard and disrespect for the intelligence of the fans and the members of the general public"

IOW, certain fanboys are insulting our intelligence.

Don't forget. He said it. Not me.

Personally, I think you are an intelligent guy. I just don't get the need to mock the intelligence of others.

I can agree with this, but mocking the intelligence of the average Joe is what this is all gonna come down to IMO. I am not sure I see what you are implying much in the clinic, ie true believers that think he didn't dope trying to convince you or me that he was clean.

Perhaps the trolls are not true believers.

There are probably not many true believers left. But, there are many among the 'hater' group that would like to get some truthful answers. Too bad that the trolls are constantly trying to derail this.

"...expect to see more attempts to distract that portion of the public that remains interested in getting truthful answers."

We have thousands of posts here than can confirm that prediction.

Dave.

This may deserve its own thread.

From the first in what is promised to be a series of essays on doping in VeloNews:

http://velonews.competitor.com/2011...es-by-lemond-fitness-ceo-mark-handfelt_175962

Huh. Did you find that a few days ago? I can only assume it was on the main page for at least a short time, but now it is relegated to page three of the "news" section. This seems to have gotten buried amongst all the Giro coverage.

It's a sign-of-the-times that they would print something like this at all. It never would've happened 3 or 4 years ago. Interesting comments below the article as well.

Of course the one main angle of attack, and it is not unfounded, is that this is coming from someone who is far from a neutral source. But I agree with his perspective.

Like many heroes, Armstrong has come to believe his own larger than life persona. He continues to live in a fantasy of his and his advisors’ making. Armstrong’s advisors hold themselves out to be accomplished, experienced professionals, but they have misapprehended and misjudged the problem they were hired to solve.

Dave.

Why would a Velonews Article by the CEO/Lawyer of LeMond Fitness deserve its own thread in the Clinic?
Aren't there enough Lance threads already?
"Urine Trouble" thread
"Livestrong TrainerBike Sham" thread
"Lance Lies" thread
"WSJ / SI / SundayTimes / 60mins EtcEtcEtc" threads...

How about a thread comparing GregLeMond.com to Livestrong.org?

http://siteanalytics.compete.com/livestrong.org+greglemond.com/?metric=uv

Sad that over 40,000 people per month visit a Cancer support site.....
Sad that only 500 or so people a month visit the for-profit Lemond site.
They need some good publicity yikes

Things are looking rather desperate if the best he can hope for is a fanboy on the jury who ignores the evidence and produces a hung jury.

You are mistaking my "worst case" scenario with "best hope".

Worst case is hung jury.
Best hope is the fanboy will convince all other jurors to vote Not Guilty.
12 Angry Men Part II.

Henry Fonda can play Lance in the part II.
Kenneth Mars can play Novitzsky.

But anyway, this is all imaginary evidence in an imaginary trial.
You yourself think the trial wil not even take place.

Yeah, but nothing can climb faster than a cadaver. Nice and light. Apparently zombies are also quick to pick up the higher cadence required to climb nowadays...

Except, instead of using a carrot on stick you have to use brains on a stick ...

other than that ... they really power up the climbs

OMG wash your mouth out with soap! Bogie was way too cool and a nice guy, he also had a few vices which we know LA had 'none'. ;)

I think Lance would be really pleased if Charleton Heston played him.

Lance is probably thinking more Mel Gibson.

Strong Australian link, really bad-*ss early roles, problems as a teen, serious female issues, substance abuse, can run off at the mouth, needs MAJOR redemption.

Then again, Gibson has been supportive of charities, rather than the reverse.

Dave.
