Nice to see you rethinking your position and brining salient points to the discussion.

Now, go back to being obtuse and argumentative. As it is, there's nothing exciting going on in here (unless you include people applying phrenology to the lumps on Johnny Hoogerland's @ss)...

;)

OK.

Why didn't you think of this a couple of weeks ago, instead of posting this hypothesis in the first place? Do I have to think of every angle, and even come to the painful decision of having to rethink my position? What good are you if I have to do all of this work myself?

If that is not enough, I can make a wisecrack about the town you live in again. :D

FYI, Doug Miller smear campaign starts in 3..2...1....
It's pretty difficult to smear someone who refuses to comment to the press. Not that Fabio won't try.............................

It's a bit silly to think that all the dopers Lance raced against were NOT busted because they "were protected".

C'mon, they were not busted because they evaded detection.
Seriously, how on earth can you be "protected" from being busted?

Kelme/Once/T-Mob/ETC did not need "protection".
"But USPostal was targeted - so they needed protection"
Sure, like that makes sense lol.

Not really silly at all if you operate the sideshow known as the UCI. It actually would be harder to "protect" a chosen media show pony if everyone around him was busted, all at once. I'd think the opportunity to shake down some minor contenders would be hard to avoid for these guys, don't you?

Those UCI guys must be real geniuses at hiding such pervasive, far-reaching corruption.

Not really. You suppress it at the local level; tests lost or compromised don't even make the list and no labs involved. If you were a lower tier rider that got a big result and some UCI test goon said that you may have an "irregular" circumstance that could disappear; how do you, a pro rider whose salary is results-base respond? Fight the good fight or split part of your winner's purse with the local goon? Nothing complex or smart about a simple shakedown.

In this german "blut und spielen" documentary they show how it goes down. Exactly as you describe it. And these local goons usually don't ask for more than 500 to 1000 euros.

No its not hard when no one is looking.

and they're not even good at it.
Look at the FIFA and ATP, at least they manage to create the fake appearance of a PED-free sport.
The UCI fails dramatically in that sense.

i think the expression is "they couldn't organize a píssup in a brewery" :D

Looking old..... very old......

“The other day I took my twin daughters for a bike ride to The Aspen Club, hiked the Ute with them, and biked back into town,” he says. “We stopped at Cache Cache on the way. They had some chocolate cake while I had a couple of beers.”

He’s a regular on the restaurant scene, as long as that scene consists of four places: the aforementioned Cache Cache, Campo de Fiore, Matsuhisa, and the patio at Ajax Tavern.

The statement that steroids are mandatory in Pac-12 football is incredibly suspect to me. That dramatically undercuts the credibility of the author. Looks like he's just another blogger on the Internet who makes up facts.

The infrastructure necessary to cover-up (a) institutional collegiate dopage, (b) in each and every Pac-12--school would never hold up. Too many people would have to be in on the secret. "Mandatory?" Yeah, right. . .

Garbage article.

Get a crayon. Write silly on your mirror. Peer into it.

No, this is not a personal attack.

Do you have ANY idea how much money is involved in college football? Do you have any idea of the degree of scandal involved in college football?

Did you go to college?

EVERYONE in the school gains from the financial windfall of college football.

Dave.

I agree with you that steroid use is rampant in college football.

The article said that it was MANDATORY. Not just mandatory, but mandatory across the Pac-12. That means institutional doping--in every Pac-12 school. The article also said that people were getting injected in Pac-12 weight rooms.

A secret like that cannot be kept. First, there are too many honest people associated with the sport. Second, there are always spurned players who turn on the team when their expectations are not met. Third, there are reporters who would drool (and pay) for a story about institutional doping. Fourth, the story lacked even the slightest hint at proof or even a credible source.

Like I said. The article is garbage.

More so than in collegiate cycling I would guess.
Might be true for the US Pro's also
And the writer of the article argues that cycling is an easier target.
That might be true too.

The writer also blurrs the distinction between Illegal PEDs and Legal PEDs.
He gives examples of legal PEDs in Pro Tennis, Basketball, and Football.

In his college football example, he says there is usage of "steroids and other PEDs".

Would you agree that there might be MANDATORY programs for the OTHER PEDs?

Mandatory Performance Enhancing injections of vitamins and iron and what not? And that these injections may well be administered in the weight rooms as described by his source?

I myself would not be suprised to learn of Mandatory Legal PED Programs at the Pac12 schools.

So I am going to ask if there has been any mention recently of LA's plans to show up the last week of leTour??
Given the sad state of the RS team in this Tour I am wondering what his purpose besides PR might be, or if the reality of this plan has been overshadowed by other pressing issues?
