Sorry if this was already posted, I didn't see it anywhere... Interesting piece.

Lance Armstrong: the endgame begins
Great piece!
"Armstrong Tweeted: “Congratulations to @eki_ekimov on his 3rd Olympic Gold Medal!!” That was a reference to his former US Postal Service team-mate, Vjatcheslav Ekimov, who was second to Hamilton in that Athens time trial. It appears Armstrong has no problem with titles being retrospectively stripped in such circumstances. Good to know."

Live by the sword, die by the sword. Practice what you preach. And all that.

Let's see if he can follow in Tyler's footsteps and hand in all the hardware.

Your move Lance.

Dave.

This is when I start to wonder how much money team Armstrong has. He's paying the best manipulators now and it's still very early in the battle. Armstrong Fairness Fund anyone? Anyone?

I'm still concerned the convictions won't happen with Fabiani/Rove-like firepower. A plea deal at the end of the grand jury investigation and the evidence stays private. Like a zombie, liestrong scam will stay alive in that scenario. And then there's the widespread corruption at the federations that will be left alone.

What we see is the tip of the proverbial iceberg - and far less than the staff at the Yellow Rose.

Armstrong hired Luskin last summer. Apparently that fact has only just now surfaced, because Luskin's name was on the letter to CBS.

The legal/PR fees are significant, but a drop in the bucket given the endorsement money and image at stake. What's funny is that the stories about Armstrong's team all say they are famous for their ability to manipulate the media, and then the fans proceed to believe every statement that comes out of their mouths.

Well, what do you mean by "for real"?

If you mean "is this site an official site of Lance Armstrong and meant seriously" then the answer is yes.

If you mean "is anything on that site truthful" then the answer is obviously no.

Look at the consequences of what you are saying. Team Armstrong says, "Win and add two zeros to the total bill. Lose, and I pay pennies on the dollar?"

Different question same idea, what do you think the burn rate is on a team like that? Us mere mortals couldn't even afford the phone call.

I loooved the fact they inflated the 'most tested athlete' to absolutely absurd levels.

Not only did they increase the number of tests, but they lengthened the number of years he rode as a pro to something like more than half his life. It doesn't pass the average person's B.S. detector unlike the original claim. The faithful won't be tested.

Fabiani is the U.S. equivalent of the Iraqi press secretary when #43 went on an empire building spree in Iraq. I can't see why someone would hire this joker after this. I hope it was worth it.

More pump, waiting for the dump.

Look for this to be on SNL soon. Who will play Lance?

+1

Comedy Gold indeed. Quite saddening, really, that their take on reality is that feeble and weak and the fact that Lance actually pays through his nose for this. Doesn't bode well. Quite seriously, as a "Lance-hater" I could make a website in 20 minutes that would be a far stronger bulwark for him than this.

Well, the ability to think for oneselff is of course limited among the remaining desciples. The level of depth does suit the current LA following. It's like a handhold for them I suppose, like a checklist to keep repeating.

Is it now officially a sect?

That site is comedy gold :D

It's almost as funny as people buying a book written by Lance's mom on how great a job she did raising such an honest young man in a sea of adversary.

Now we find out that you can take the boy out of Plano, but you can't take the Plano out of the boy.

The site was funny enough as simply the work of a deluded fan, but now that Armstrong has endorsed it (if not created it himself), it's downright hilarious. And sad. I mean, is this all you got?

Î am certain he created it himself or rather let his PR agency create it for him. The timeline is way too tight for this site to be independent of him.

I don't get it. This is bad. It really looks like something out of an eighth grade desktop publishing class...actually not that good.

It always makes me nervous to gloat and deride, though, because I SO want LA to go down and I don't want to jinx anything....:)
...but it IS lame.

A quick look around tells me the new "domain" was created two days ago on GoDaddy by Domains by Proxy, a subsidiary of GoDaddy whose sole intent it is to conceal ownership of a website (normally a public record through InterNIC). The host server appears to be in Scottsdale, Az. Facts4lance.com is just a mirror of the "blog" at facts4lance.wordpress.com.
