Strickland! I smell a rat, maybe even some $s changing hands under a table.

It would not surprise me the least that either Bazaarvoice or Fabiani had some input into this apologist article. Notice the cancer angle being subtly introduced.

cheers

Having worked firsthand on "that side", this article was most certainly seeded and massaged by an experienced image specialist. It has the hallmarks of such a campaign.

Plus, it's Strickland. This guy didn't suddenly see the light.

So when does the Fat Cyclist, the internet's salad tosser in chief, write his heartfelt mea culpa complete with a sob story about his wife to excuse his blindness?

On a sidenote - at the gym last night there was a guy with a Radioshack kit on a treadmill running - big gut made it look like it was a skinsuit. To wind him up I said 'Livewrong' (alluding to Lance) - thought he was gonna hit me.

I will completely admit that if Lance goes down, I will derive a great deal of safistaction from his clueless fans having to finally admit what we all know. These fans call others haters, but they are far worse. See comments section of Strickland article. They will do anything to protect their dream and their fantasy. These fans call the likes of me a hater, but the bile they spew towards the Andreus, Greg etc etc, is incredible.

So, you are at the gym on Friday night and you find yourself strangely attracted to the chubby guy in the RadioShack Skinsuit?

Interesting...
Not saying that there is anything wrong with that mind you.
Just saying.

And sure, the hater fanboys hurt your feelings with their attacks on you, Betsy, and Greg. You are a sensitive guy, I understand. But c'mon - Betsy and Greg are the King and Queen of the Haterz. Prince Kimmage and Sir Floyd too. Just fighting fire with fire lol.

If you want to do battle with the fanboys, you need to toughen up a bit.

So are they getting ready to fess up? Seems hard to believe, there's no way this can be spinned positively, surely!

Has anyone questionned where the "admission" came from and what it's about exactly?

I don't think that will happen.

Even if Lance is convicted in federal court on multiple counts, and some sort of retroactive test shows doping in his system, as long as he denies it and makes excuses many of these people simply will not admit it. They will continue to support him and believe in him no matter what evidence they face. It's only when he confesses that they will do so. And even then, a few of them will say he did so out of coercion of some sort, or they will support whatever excuses he comes up with for his actions.

yep so true. there are still people out there denying all kinds of historical attrocities so when it comes to a sporting star it aint hard to imagine

Speaking of fan reaction...

It seems that VN has done away with Disqus comments, unless the system is just down temporarily.

While I am loathe to interrupt a conversation about large breasts and handjobs, it is not often that a mod gets to ask people to please discuss Lance Armstrong so I will avail myself of this rare opportunity!

It is hard to commend a guy who has not only been spreading the lies for a decade but making money by doing so. It is highly convenient that he finds religion right after Armstrong retires and while the feds are preparing to drop an anvil on Armstrong's head.

Next, Gary Seghi steps up. "On the x-rays Armstrong's heart was not the size of a pumpkin. It was actually the size of a small, hard lump of blackest coal. I am sorry I deceived everyone."

Ah, the gong show on Lance's heart. Thank you Gary for the comically absurd 4x larger heart size.

Ed Coyle (can't believe that this rubbish is still accessible):

The Barry Bonds trial provides us with a new and different insight. One that is so much more plausible:

Occam's razor says it is the drugs and not the fanboy's fantasies.

I would advise reading the entire 12 page piece and not the small "Teaser" that is online. http://tinyurl.com/4vbgp8t

Yes, it does have some "Apologist' BS in it but it will be hard for even the most ardent groupie to deny the obvious.

Now it will all come down to "I've done a lot of good"....... Disproving that claim will be easier then the doping stuff.

+1 This is the point!

The way everything is laid out - the timelines and teammates/former teammates, very compelling + it's in Bicycling Mag for god sakes - they stay as far away from controversy as possible - the point is whether Lance dope dis no longer controversial at all - it's a given!

Ironically, THAT'S the kind of guy who comes on here and suggests that the rest of us (many former pros, Cat 1's and 2's) "need to go out and ride your bike"...

I won't even wear my kit driving to and from a ride/race, but now the LiveWrong Army is wearing bike kits while running? Isn't there Nike 10/2 crap for that?

That $hit did not sell. It was a lame attempt to build a brand......then Armstrong realized that there was this great brand, Livestrong, that was built with the money from donors. So what if they thought it was going to cancer research, Wonderboy is going to use it to sell sneakers to groupies!

RR, one$ per unit was supposed to go to the Livestrong Foundation from 10/2 line, even tho then, the actual market value would have been more than 1 buck per, when they were 10 dollar raw cost sneakers or shoes or jerseys bought in the orient for 10 bucks and sold for a 100.

The the new Livestrong brand is supposed to give ALL proceeds to the Foundation. Alas, after costs dispersed. So, is Armstrong's Nike contract, lets say, 5mill per, subtracted by the management accountants, so they get zero effectively, maybe an ex gratia sum.

My crackpot theory is it's all Bill/Rhodale. Bill has been so willfully blind for so long he doesn't need PS checking his work.

According to the following link, Wonderboy is/was in D.C. If Fabiani is worth what he charges, visits are probably important for him and his client(s?). http://washingtonexaminer.com/blogs...t-armstrong-dines-equinox-osment-tries-art-so

This kind of story is why in the face of huge scandal the scale and obviousness of Pete Rose and MLB, I still have my doubts he will see charges.

is it possible that Strickland/Wonderboy are collaborating a new book to try and get their side out called 'I'VE DONE TOO MUCH GOOD' to the masses before the feds kick in the front door....

Love it. Can see the title "Too much good for too many people" - read the real story of Lance and how he sacrificed his own health to save others.

You don't think you're a hater? The fact that you feel its ok to "wind up" some fat *** at the gym doesn't signal anything in your feeble brain that you may have a problem with hate and jealousy?
