I did the best I could. I assumed ,I guess incorrectly that you viewed Byrne playing at some little prairie club to be a step down, or that he was doing anything to make ends meet.
In 10 years Lance and I will be on the line racing for a 20 dollar cash prime or a water bottle filled with whatever Cytomax flavor they couldn't sell at the bike shop.
Maybe Lance will be doing downtown bike tours of Austin wearing a fifth generation pair of Bellwether touring shorts and some Keen bike shoes that look like earth shoes w spd cleats. Am I close to what your thinking?
Will Lance be truing wheels at a shop in downtown Austin rooming up w Levi and Chad Gerlach in a 20 year old motor home? Will Lance perfect his swimming skills and mule EPO across the Mexican border? Am I close? Will Lance call David and form a super group where Lance powers all the equipment from a generator attached to a turbo trainer? Will Lance get wind of the feds coming to cuff him and retreat to the woods of Colorado only to be sighted like a chupacabra/sasquatch endurance fugitive ? I just can't figure out what you are thinking, I know it's about Lance and the Talking Heads.
I hope Lance doesn't go to work at a puny, dusty night club in Illinois, is that what you are saying?

10 years from now Lance will be talking to the judge....trying to get time off for good behavior

I could be wrong but I got that the mention of Talking Head lyrics brought back memories of his encounter(s) with David Byrne. That's all. No Armstrong association or link other than his Byrne recollections appearing in this Armstrong thread.

...man I hope not...

I think I am going to email the Feds and tell them to hurry up because I need to win a ****ing internet argument. They gotta' understand how important that is.

I simply found it ironic that my life had taken me to that bar in Sterling. I am sure that David was there because he stilled loved to play music. Great show by the way.

Lance will gather the 100 people who still believe in him, and retreat with them into the mountains. Isolated from civilization which has dismissed them all. They'll study, sing and praise his teachings. They'll all die winners. All short blond women will bear a new generation super babies.

Fact or Fiction? Give it 20 years to find out.

.......or maybe they'll baricade themselves in a mansion somewhere in Texas and declare Lance has received a 'message' that he will reveal on a certain date and time calling themselves Branch Live$trongians......i think we can guess what happens after that

Great, great book, one of the best, but... going back to my earlier question, I was wondering how people think Lance would handle an 'official' admittance from Hincapie that implicates Lance, which is probably only going to happen when the indictments come, and George's hand is forced.

What I mean is, Lance has gone for the 'discredit' option over everyone who has pointed the finger at him, how would he deal with George Hincapie, (his brother) coming clean?

Surely discrediting is out of the equation? So, would it be a case of 'I feel sorry for George, he has been threatened with jail by the big bad Feds, and forced to say these things in this witchhunt?'

Because I am sure Lance's considerable legal team must be aware of what they are up against by now surely...

George's grand jury testimony may never see the light of day. I have a hard time envisioning circumstances where Lance or his team would seek to unseal the grand jury testimony. There is the possibility that Lance may have to face George in open court. That depends upon an indictment that makes George's testimony relevant.

How do you know that George talked to the Grand Jury?

George may not be a big deal in Europe but in the US he sells a fair amount of sportswear and cycling clothing. He and his company are playing an every growing role in some development teams and races. He has interests to protect and an admission of lying and collusion for most of his career would be very damaging for him as well . His skin is hardly saved by pushing Armstrong under the bus.
The unhappy Huffington Post link is another example of Armstrong growing and reaching people outside of cycling circles. He has found but yet another venue to publish his positive message. Further growing like a starfish. Accused doper in one circle, motivational, super boy in another. He says he has 28 million people who he connects with on one issue and who knows how many he has disconnected on another. From his writings and actions it would appear that he is riding away from pro cycling as fast as he rode while within it.
When and if he goes to court he will have a long track record of doing and saying things of an innocent man rather than the 99% almost in jail doper that lots of people have written him off to be. I hope Novitzky is logging in some serious OT because Pharmstrong sure is. Even if he is doing everything out of guilt, you can't deny he is a hard worker

Is George not obliged to tell the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth.? Lying to Feds might not be a sound business strategy.

More money for Lance and less for the true cancer charities i think you mean.

Still doping huh, no surprise there.

Not much about Lance is innocent for a guy using illegal substances since his teens that is a long time.

But keep trying as i am sure public stratagies need it now more than ever.

A new report “leaked” on LA and steroids? Did I miss something?

http://www.deseretnews.com/article/700184242/5-questions-with-Lance-Armstrong.html?s_cid=rss-38

Q: There was a new report released about possible steroid use. Do you have a comment on that? Do you think you can ever just go out and race?
A: I'm totally immune to any controversy. I've been listening to this stuff for 15 years, with the latest thing going on for 18 months. The other side … leaked tidbits on the weeks I'm doing something. This week I'm testifying before United Nations, doing events with mayor Bloomberg. Doing events with the Livestrong Foundation, I'm racing this weekend. It's no accident that they leaked that this week.

There was this last year, which I hadn’t seen, LOL:

Edit: Apparently it's a reference to the latest Ferrari stuff. I guess to the media "doping" and "steroids" are synonymous.

"Your honor, go easy on this accused felon! When he wasn't committing a wide range of felonies, he performed acts of kindness and such."

I'm sure Madoff did his fair share of good when he wasn't running a ponzi scheme. Marion Jones was an inspiration to all. The doctor that killed Michael Jackson is using the same defense. Let's just let them all off!

I could make more colorful examples, but I think you get the point.

I reality Armstrong has never been caught for using anything by any testing federation that he was penalized for. I will let you be she and Lance be he. this is up till now he said she said, perpetual cycle that will never end even if he is convicted of things outside your timeline as a teenager.

The Desert News link shows again that there doesn't appear to be lots of "regular" people in your camp. Armstrong praising the support he got at the race and talking of an upcoming United Nations appearance. Not you average athlete by any means. The fact that he gets published at will is also troubling to your theory, most of the dope drummers can't get anybody to print there fact filled stories. The Novitzky goes to Europe stories has been shuffled around and retold dozens of times with nothing really new. The only thing that reanimates the story is by asking Novitzky if the case is dead, when he assures people it's not the story is reprinted.

George has been riding his bike and promoting his clothes without the look of pending doom. He had a good showing in his backyard nationals race. His strategy or strategies would appear to let legal people do what they do and ride his bike for money. All the buzz about grand jury conclusions are drawn from somebody else's words not George's. He talked to the jury and nobody else. The existence of a parallel reality where Lance is known drug user since his teen years can only help him in the fight he faces in court

To summarize:
Lance has never been caught. Lots of people continue to believe in Lance. George hasn't spoken to the media.

Each of those statements are true, but they don't really disturb the fact known to most informed unbiased cycling fans--Lance doped. Why else, then is Lance under investigation and why are Frankie, Betsy, Tyler and Floyd saying he doped? Why the continued association with Ferrari, the biggest current doping doctor of them all--banned from the sport. And what about the Simeoni incident?

True - but what have these people ever done for cancer?
