So, an unprovable conspiracy by LA & others or uninformed finger pointers including US Government agencies?

A conspiracy of false dichotomies!

REQUIRED TO LOG IN ONCE AGAIN after addition !

I refer you to the complaints about the forum thread.

At about the 150th page of a book i have just finished rereading i came across the " motivation " that prompted the setting up of " LiveSTRONG " ! I find the " It's not about the bike" quite motivating and from the comments in this thread it is obvious that most of you have read it more than once also !

Please enlighten us, what was the motivation for setting up LiveSTRONG?

skippy said:
No doubt some of you have marked the various quotations with Highlighter and may even have your own index of contents so as to go back to refute assertions made by others !

Nope, read it once and passed it on.

skippy said:
HOW so many of you having read ( perhaps your perception skills are lacking ) this book and others and then twisted those quotations to suit your own purposes defy my imagination ! That LA is not a saint is made clear in his own writings and musings but he definitely has not been " Convicted in a Legal Court " of ALL that some of you wish "! Trying to liken him to papp , flandis , shamilton and others belittles your own intellect , that is if you ever had this faculty ! Reminds me of some of those odious comments that arrived on my blogs by " anonymous " , gutless and thoughtless would have been a better moniker !

Perhaps you could give us an example of various quotations from Armstrong's book which have been used to suit our own purposes?

Personally I don't liken Armstrong to Papp, Landis and Hamilton. They have confessed to taking PEDs; Armstrong has not confessed.

skippy said:
That we have passed 7900 comments on this thread alone makes me wonder how much bile is out there ? SHOULD LA find himself in a Court of Law , i doubt that any of you will treat him in the same way that you treated papp now that he has been silenced ( perhaps only temporarily ) ! Last month i was waiting like so many others with bated breathe for the predictions to be fulfilled but the Astroid sailed past EArth last night without headlines ! Which of you is going to stand in the sand pit on a soapbox and make the next pronouncement of his difficulties with this " Court of public opinion" ?

Of those 7900+ comments, a lot have been supportive of Armstrong. Just read a few of Polish's posts, for example.

I'm not sure what the predictions you write about have to do with an asteroid which passed close to Earth yesterday but the asteroid did actually make the headlines here.

I don't think anything will be achieved by jailing Papp or Armstrong.

skippy said:
Not sure what i will do for amusement when this thread comes to a grinding halt , perhaps take to reading his other books for a start !

May I suggest you avoid reading "Every Second Counts". It's really badly written in my opinion. Try "Lance Armstrong's War" by Dan Coyle - it's a bit more balanced. Of course, I can't guarantee that you will like the chapter on Floyd Landis or the references to Tyler Hamilton, but unlike the author, you have the benefit of hindsight.

skippy said:
Forgot to mention the trashy report of 8th Nov on papp ! Bow as you pass ? NO THE CLOWN WAS A SELF SERVING HYPOCRITE WHO DESERVES 10 years , look at all those innocents murdered in mexico daily in the pursuit of "profits "! Getting run over by his own car is not the truth in a recent death !

Why do you consider the report to be trashy? I found it enlightening.

Odd that you wonder how much bile is out there and then come up with a statement about Joe Papp like that one. I wonder if and when Armstrong admits to or is convicted of a similar crime you will be posting the same sentiments about him?

The other point to note is "the book" - It’s not about the bike makes it clear he (Armstrong) was not a doper and the French were against him. If it turns out that he was a doper then I think a lot of people will be very hurt. The recovery from cancer and not using PED were inextricably linked from this point.

I get that, but don't quite see the relevance to what I said.

I understand what you said but when compared to the previous post it contains some valid points don't you think?

I guess we'll find out Tuesday?

TUESDAY
:)

drumroll..!!!

Tuesday afternoon,
I'm just beginning to see, now I'm on my way
It doesn't matter to me, chasing the clouds away.

Something, calls to me,
The trees are drawing me near, I've got to find out why?
Those gentle voices I hear, explain it all with a sigh.

I'm looking at myself reflections of my mind,
It's just the kind of day to leave myself behind.
So gently swaying through the fairyland of love,
If you'll just come with me you'll see the beauty of

Tuesday afternoon, Tuesday afternoon.

Tuesday, afternoon,
I'm just beginning to see, now I'm on my way.
It doesn't matter to me, chasing the clouds away.
Something, calls to me,
The trees are drawing me near, I've got to find out why?
Those gentle voices I hear, explain it all with a sigh

She would never say where she came from
Yesterday don't matter if it's gone
While the sun is bright
Or in the darkest night
No one knows
She comes and goes

Goodbye, ruby tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still Im gonna miss you...

Don't question why she needs to be so free
Shell tell you it's the only way to be
She just can't be chained
To a life where nothings gained
And nothings lost
At such a cost

There's no time to lose, I heard her say
Catch your dreams before they slip away
Dying all the time
Lose your dreams
And you will lose your mind.
Aint life unkind?

Goodbye, ruby tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still Im gonna miss you...

Train roll on, on down the line,
Won't you please take me far away?
Now I feel the wind blow outside my door,
Means I'm leaving my woman behind.
Tuesday's gone with the wind.
My woman's gone with the wind.

And I don't know where I'm going.
I just want to be left alone.
Well, when this train ends I'll try again,
But I'm leaving my woman at home.

[chorus]
Tuesday's gone with the wind.
Tuesday's gone with the wind.
Tuesday's gone with the wind.
My woman's gone with the wind.

Train roll on many miles from my home,
See, I'm riding my blues away.
Tuesday, you see, she had to be free
But somehow I've got to carry on.

[chorus]

Monday morning comes too early
Work my back to the bone
All day Monday I keep thinking
"Weekend's coming, gonna go home"

Tuesday I hate, oh Tuesday
Ain't no girls on the street
Tuesday it ain't good for nothing
Drinking beer and watching TV

Friday, Friday evening
Come on Friday, it's been too long
Friday, Friday evening
Come on Friday, I wanna go home

Wednesday's hump day, hump day's Wednesday
Over the hump, the week's half-gone
If I had my pay on Wednesday
I'd hang out, the hump day's gone

Thursday, you know I feel better
I can see the end in sight
Think I'll write myself a letter
Help myself through the night

Just look through your window, look who sits outside
Little me is waiting, standing through the night
When you'll walk through your door I'll wave my flag and shout

Oh, beautiful baby
My burning desire started on Sunday
Give me your heart and I'll love you till Tuesday
Da da da dum [x4]

Who's that hiding in the apple tree, clinging to a branch

Don't be afraid it's only me, hoping for a little romance

If you lie beneath my shade, I'll keep you nice and cool

Oh, beatiful baby
I was very lonely till I met you on Sunday
My passion's never-ending and I'll love you till Tuesday
Da da da dum [x7]
Let the wind blow through your hair, be nice to the big blue sea
Don't be afraid of the man in the moon, because it's only me

I shall always watch you until my love runs dry

Oh, beautiful baby
My heart's a flame, I'll love you till Tuesday
My head's in a whirl and I'll love you till Tuesday

Love, love, love, love you till Tuesday [x2]
Da da da dum [x11]

Well, I might stretch it till Wednesday

If I make a mark in time, I can't say the mark is mine.
I'm only the underline of the word.
Yes, I'm like him, just like you, I can't tell you what to do.
Like everybody else I'm searching thru what I've heard.

Whoa, Where do you go? When you don't want no one to know?
Who told tomorrow Tuesday's dead

Oh preacher won't you paint my dream, won't you show me where you've been
Show me what I haven't seen to ease my mind.
Cause I will learn to understand, if I have a helping hand.
I wouldn't make another demand all my life.

What's my sex, what's my name, all in all it's all the same.
Everybody plays a different game, that is all.
Now, man may live, man may die searching for the question why.
But if he tries to rule the sky he must fall.

Now every second on the nose, the humdrum of the city grows.
Reaching out beyond the throes of our time.
We must try to shake it down. Do our best to break the ground.
Try to turn the world around one more time.
Yeah, we must try to shake it down do our best to break the ground
Try to turn the world around one more time

'Seven days, was all she wrote
A kind of ultimatum note, she gave to me
She gave to me
When I thought the field had cleared
It seems another suit appeared to challenge me
Woe is me
Though I hate to make a choice
My options are decreasing mostly rapidly
Well, we'll see
I don't think she'd bluff this time
I really have to make her mine
It's plain to see, it's him or me
Monday, I could wait till Tuesday
If I make up my mind
Wedn'sday would be fine
Thursday's on my mind
Friday'd give me time
Saturday could wait
But Sunday'd be too late

The fact he's over six feet ten
Might instil fear in other men
But not in me
The mighty flea
Ask if I am mouse or man
The mirror squeaked, away I ran
He'll murder me in time for his tea
Does it bother me at all
My rival is Neanderthal

It makes me think
Perhaps I need a drink
I.Q. is no problem here
We won't be playing Scrabble for
Her hand, I fear
I need that beer

Monday, I could wait till Tuesday
If I make up my mind
Wedn'sday would be fine
Thursday's on my mind
Friday'd give me time
Saturday could wait
But Sunday'd be too late

Seven days will quickly go
The fact remains, I love her so
Seven days
So many ways
But I can't run away
I can't run away

Monday, I could wait till Tuesday
If I make up my mind
Wedn'sday would be fine
Thursday's on my mind
Friday'd give me time
Saturday could wait
But Sunday'd be too late
Do I have to tell a story
Of a thousand rainy days
Since we first met
It's a big enough umbrella
But it's always me that ends up
Getting wet. Yeah, Yeah.

Don't walk away from me
I'm not that kind that likes to be put down
Don't leave me standing here
I'm not the kind that likes to be the clown in the rain for the world who must sing

Without you my life's gonna be forever Tuesday morning

I'm so alone inside I haven't got the guts to go away
The world is wicked and I'm just to weak to ever want to
Pray for the best but prepare for the rest

Without you my life's gonna be forever Tuesday morning

Forever Tuesday…

I'd give up everything I owned for you
I'd have a piece of nothing pie
I'd wait alone here for that rendez-vous
If only I was not so lonely
If only I was not so homely
If only I was not so lost within you

Without you my life's gonna be forever Tuesday morning…

Amazed no ones done the classic -

he would never say where they came from
Yesterday don't matter if it's gone
While the sun is bright
Or in the darkest night
No one knows

Goodbye, ruby tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still Im gonna miss you...

Don't question why he needs to be so free
hell tell you it's the only way to be
he just can't be chained
To a life where nothings gained
And nothings lost
At such a cost

There's no time to lose, I heard her say
Catch your dreams before they slip away
Dying all the time
Lose your dreams
And you will lose your mind.
Aint life unkind?

Goodbye, ruby tuesday

I don't care if Monday's blue
Tuesday's gray and Wednesday too
Thursday I don't care about you
It's Friday, I'm in love

Monday you can fall apart
Tuesday, Wednesday break my heart
Oh, Thursday doesn't even start
It's Friday I'm in love

Saturday, wait
And Sunday always comes too late
But Friday, never hesitate...

I don't care if Mondays black
Tuesday, Wednesday - heart attack
Thursday, never looking back
It's Friday, I'm in love

Monday, you can hold your head
Tuesday, Wednesday stay in bed
Or Thursday - watch the walls instead
It's Friday, I'm in love

Saturday, wait
And Sunday always comes too late
But Friday, never hesitate...

Dressed up to the eyes
It's a wonderful surprise
To see your shoes and your spirits rise
Throwing out your frown
And just smiling at the sound
And as sleek as a sheik
Spinning round and round
Always take a big bite
It's such a gorgeous sight
To see you eat in the middle of the night
You can never get enough
Enough of this stuff
It's Friday, I'm in love

I don't care if Monday's blue
Tuesday's gray and Wednesday too
Thursday I don't care about you
It's Friday, I'm in love

Monday you can fall apart
Tuesday, Wednesday break my heart
Thursday doesn't even start
It's Friday I'm in love
