You know I would of liked have seen Beñat Intxausti ride for a foreign team, instead of just going to a Spanish team. Would of been something different.

At the same time, Eusebio Unzué is about the best in the business at nurturing and taking care of young talent, and it would be a lot more beneficial to him than moving to Garmin where they are too busy with sprints and classics to give him the support he'd need, or to Radioshack where he'd have anything interesting about him beaten out and made to work defensively to protect a bunch of aging TT riders, which were the two other suggestions mooted.

Even though he was later cleared, I do have my vague worries about a guy who was yanked from the 2008 CSF-Navigare Giro squad for failing a test - when Sella and Priamo slipped through, and Pérez Cuapio and Baliani went ballistic in the mountains.

While they're plucking easily remembered names amongst Argentines and Brazilians maybe Julio Alberto will get a dusting off to be the Mexican. He doesn't have the ability he used to but it will be quite nostalgic to see him in the hills of the Giro. God I hope they put Fedaia into the 2011 one.

And correctly omitted, now that he has evidently joined Radioshack.

I still don't understand why you are including the DS as one of the 25 though...

richeze was 100% cleared and he didn't fail a test at csf he was just left out because uci wanted to suspend him like with hondo despite being cleared. it was a complete mess and richeze decided to go back to argentina and race there. I hope he really comes back as he was a very allround talent and one rider I really miss in Europa.

Btw why will movistar only have 25 riders?? where has this been confirmed?? I never understand why pt teams don't take 30 riders, way better spreading with the big calendar we have these days.

Perez Cuapio didn't really went ballistic in the mountains only Pozzo and Sella did in 2008 and from Sella we now know why.

Pérez Cuapio and Fortunato Baliani were in the mountain breakaways almost every other day. No, they didn't go ballistic to the extent of Sella, and Pozzo was fine cos he sat in the péloton as they all chased his teammates.

Richeze was indeed 100% cleared, but he was withdrawn from the Giro on the basis of a failed test - a banned steroid called Stanazol was found in his blood after his win at the Circuit de la Sarthe in April 2008. This is irrefutable.

yes and he was later cleared for that, that´s what the whole mess was about he was then cleared in august so he started racing again but in 2009 the uci threatened csf and richeze by trying to suspend him again just like what they did with hondo. so richeze´s hands were tied. just liek hondo swapped teams left and rigth during that time, richeze just decided to go back to argentina.

also he was caught on that steroid in sarthe, so had nothign to do with internal control that sella came through, also backt hen they couldn´t find cera yet so sella was clear to do whatever he wanted.

Well first of all, AC is under contract to Riis until the end of 2012, so 2013 at it's earliest.

No, you're right - lots of super-domestiques and guys who can top 10 but nobody who can podium a GT.

In the Ardennes and short stage races they'll be pretty good though.

But Arroyo podiumed the same way any of their other solid potential top 10-15 guys could podium. Kudos to him, but that's not what Libertine was talking about.

Anyway, I think they're actually more interesting when they lack Valverde.
