Yes we just covered Klôdi, albeit a few years later. In 2004 he didn't really ride for Ulle though after his leader blew up in the Pyrenees, except maybe when he tried to set him up for the win in Villard-de-Lans, a hopeless and desperate move since Ulle had been on the attack earlier in the day.

I guess my point was that there haven't been too many of these "super-domestiques" in recent memory at least. I guess we could add Jean-François Bernard and Gerard Rué for Indurain though....

In any case hope MB makes it o the TDF!

In about 2 years, Busche will rip at Lombardia and Liege. Busche, a natural classics rider, although weaker than Cancellera, an engine between Cancellera and Jens! Hopefully whichever team Busche will ride for next year, will coach him wisely. If the Shack closes I hope he goes to Liquigas! Nice combo with Sagan and the Liquigas Sportives!

We need any kind of competition for Gilbert, so I hope you're right. Watching take Gilbert win after win effortlessly is boring. More warriors are wanted. Busche would be excellent but he still has a lot to grow.

Apparently all of Sky's GB riders are down to race the British Nationals, that would make it ten. With a further six riders meant to be riding in their own Nationals.

Swift for the win.

The Italian Cycling Federation (FCI) has clarified that only riders who were handed doping suspensions after 1 August 2008 will be prevented from taking part in the national championships.

[...]

Ivan Basso, Michele Scarponi and Stefano Garzelli are among the riders who will thus be able to participate in this month’s Italian road championships in Aci Catena, Sicily, as their doping-related suspensions were all handed down before 2008.

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/ita...-affects-riders-suspended-after-1-august-2008

We at the Italian Cycling Federation are 100% commited to bringing the fight against doping to the dopers themselves. We will institute policies to see to it that past dopers cannot continue to benefit from the sport. Beginning with people busted at any time during the UCI's eight year statute of limitations--no, wait, 2008. August of 2008.

Yeah.

Problem?

Mega bike throw from Hincapie wasn't enough - look at the photo and look how far behind the saddle he is! :D

That would be sweet if he won :p

It's a shame that in a lot of countries the national jersey is won by "small" cyclists.

It's not nearly tough enough for Contador. That climb isn't anything special, and there's like 15 km from the top to the finish. It's perfect for Ventoso.

I would guess.

Germany - Knees
Sweden - Lofkvist
Finland - Carlstrom
Norway - Eddie Boss

I am guessing that Appollonio and someone else might go to the Italian Nationals as it doesnt look too serious a course this year.

I hope sky dont send all of their riders to the GB nationals, while its great for the team and the fans, its a bit harsh on the opposition. I think teams should be restricted to 5 or 6 riders.

Etna's Contador would smoke that race.

A bit too hard for Ventoso as long as the race is fast as it should be.

Just a correction for the cn records posted after Ntls . Chann won the pro road race in 2002. His supposedly "last year" , and reunited with since Jrs friend Bubba Armstrong. He won his first of two Am Ntls road in Seattle in 95.

I'd imagine they send at least one of the other Norwegians to help EBH

How would you know? He never gave it a serious try in the one day races besides in '10. I'd like to see him give a serious try to win this jersey even if it will be hard.

WTF? They could have done a shorter loop and have one or two more laps to it

The loop is about 48km long, the shorter it gets is 37km. They should have added one more loop at least.

Think for the Belgian one GVA would be a fitting wearer of it. You would see him put in stupid attacks too like in Tour of Belgium where he could have sprinted to win. Bart De Clercq maybe???
Moreno and Rodriguez to form a Katusha duo maybe.
Anyone got French profiles up too??? Sry but i just want to know whether a sprinter/ allrounder/ climber will win.

i'll be honest, other then the stage win at the giro I dunno a lot about him.
Thus I think a flat profile and a group that might actually chase might not go so well for the guy.

Yeah i have no idea about him too but he might be able to get in a breakaway for OPL and let QS do chasing. That is what happened with Busche who had B.King last yr's winner who just sat on.

Bart Declerq has no chance here. If he's at the Nationals you know who he'll be working for.
