Eh? Have you moved? I thought you were in the South-West.

Hard to see anyone else but a Sky rider winning. But it would be interesting to see how it pans out with Cavendish in the bunch on Swift's wheel and Blythe or other sprinter in the breakaway.

Early prediction: the winner to come from South Yorkshire.

Yeh, moved up to the north east last august, up here for another year or so.

Spain National Championship was last year on a flat region.
Wind + narrow roads = spectacular race (although unusual in these latitudes)

This year will be a hilly race. The course is not yet definitive but knowing that it is around Castellón I had a feeling :D

According to this link:

http://www.rfec.com/vistas/noticias/cronica.aspx?id=10574

They'll finish with a loop going three times through this:

Come to think of it, it's been ages since I've seen a Spanish national jersey in the peloton.

I don't even know who's wearing it!

Belgian nation jersey is easily noticeable. By how much its wearer fails xD

Guti did some nice work for Lulu on that Madeline stage.

Where about in the north east are you staying? whats the riding like there?

About 10 miles south of sunderland.

Riding, what I got to do last summer, constanly lumpy and damn windy. A fractured T12 last october/november messed up the entire winter. Only now allowed back on the bike, and only allowed to do an hour max at a time (physio last week, flexibility better than average, strength in my back of a child). And not "meant" to be riding on anything too bumpy either.

Yeh, i found details on their website for the womens, and a bit of info on the juniors but it was all very vague. the vagueness was worsened by google translate

I keep meaning to go riding with a cousin who lives in northumberland. He constantly tells me what great riding it is. Sorry to here about the injury.

i'm actively rooting against all movistar and leopard riders in the national champs just because of the poor jobs they've done with national jerseys so far this year. IMO it's best when the whole jersey is the colors of the nation, not just three small stripes across the middle

Maybe not 2 time winner Tom Zirbel will be riding the TT got the all clear today.

I think Phinney could take Zirbel and maybe Brent who is coming into some good form.

BMC Racing Team U.S. Nationals Time Trial Roster (May 28):
Brent Bookwalter, Taylor Phinney

BMC Racing Team U.S. Nationals Road Race Roster (May 30):
Chris Barton, Brent Bookwalter, George Hincapie, Jeff Louder, Taylor Phinney

tuarts, I am sorry I have gone AWOL but I have been super busy.

I think Zabriskie takes the TT. The road race is a grab bag. Alot of potential winners in that field.

From just reading the previews, it seems to be the same routes as last year, with small circuits, then 4 circuits of Paris Mountain, then the start circuits again, and the TT looks the same as well.

IMO, it's between Phinney and Zabriskie for the TT.

And for the road race, it all depends on how the big teams want to race it. I think BMC will probably want to control the race, whilst Shack might prefer to put someone in the break, and hope it sticks like last year.
(Ben King was essentially on RadioShack last year, so they didn't have to do any work, so he stayed away till the end.)

It is very weird that seems USA fans always ignore TJVG. You USA fans think he is a Dutch or something?

Just happened to forget about him when I wrote that, that's all. He's right behind Phinney and Zabriskie in my book. He and Zirbel could contend.

Ya, now you're talking! It's true that Zabriskie is obviously on form at this moment...and has said 'it will be good to get the jersey back' so he really is serious. BUT I am really rooting for Zirbel on this one! He has got a great chance. :)

It's a shame Chris Butler got hurt in the Giro.

He's a Furman guy... the Paris Mountain loop is his home course (really, it's Hincapie's as well). I would have liked to have seen Butler in the break this weekend.

No we just watched Zabriskie in Solvang. He's on it right now. Teejay not looking bad either, but if Zabriskie can crush Leipheimer on a course that Leipheimer has owned in the past then my money is on DZ.

None of the courses seem definitive. RFEC is still in contact with local cycling clubs to finish the course design for many of the races. The only thing they know about the RR for the pros is the starting place (a new airport with no flights operating on it yet :D *) and the 3 laps around a loop including the climb starting from Benicàssim and descending to Castellón. Nothing is said about what's in between.

* Spain has an airport bubble on top of the housing bubble

So TSF, who do you think will be crowned 'Best Trainer' at the Sky June training camp. I think, Sky would like to see Ben Swift in the jersey this year, as he may well be going to the Tour. Peter Kennaugh has a good claim as he's been close on a couple of occasions. Or maybe they'll let Steve Cummings have a turn.

Alternatively Cav could build a 'team' around more than just David Millar and take the win. I'd love to see him wearing the GB stripes at the Tour.

Shame to see them out of action after he wins the Worlds jersey too.
