Why wouldn't they?
(Also I'm assuming that's bad wording on your part, since 6:12 is the time the last rider starts)

Seems late to me. People have dinner and are getting home to settle down for the night. On the flip side, people could come from work to watch the riders race therefore bigger crowds would watch.

In Spain the dinner is at 22:00, not before...

This is Spain. Most people have dinner at 9-10 pm, which is also when the sun sets this time of the year.

in Spain is summer, deep summer... and I can tell you that in Spain the summer is really hot ;)

well if you came down to ballarat when the nationals are on, i'm telling you know that it would get hotter than it would be in Spain.

Ugh...i don't think I would want to eat at 10pm. Not good for disgestive system.

What I am saying is it can get pretty high. Nationals in the past have been over 40oC in Ballarat.
And what I'm saying is that, overall, much of Spain is hotter than Ballarat. 40ºC is pretty normal in summer. Avoiding those peak temperatures on a road race is harder, but ITTs take a lot less time, so why would you go out of your way to schedule them at the hottest time of the day?

Lmao. Coming over from the West and it was almost like winter! I think the day I got there was 30 and it went down to about 24.

I imagine that parts of Spain can easily exceed 30+ in summer, so stop being so pretentious.

during the summer everywhere in portugal and spain temperatures go over 30 pretty much everyday. on the hotter parts temperatures go over 40 on daily bases.

Just went out to the balcony and checked the temperature of this not particularly hot day (for summer). 35ºC. Par of the course.

Just went outside and checked the temperature for a quick moment: 49° Celcius. Not so hot for this time of year. I live in the hottest and most impressive location in the world.

This isn't about bragging rights, this is about proving ACF wrong. I'm sure that's something you can get behind.

so nelson oliveira put 1 minute and a few seconds on the second over 34k. this makes him a 4 time itt national champion. 3 of those tittles were won on the 3 years he rode as a u23 and on his first year riding the elites at 22 he wins his first elite championship.

i guess this kid is on his way to becoming by far the best time trialist portugal ever had. and looking at his recent results like the 4th on the TdS time trial 25 secs behind the canc in a few years he may be one of the best in the world.

nice :p
