..so good he wet himself twice.:D

The last climb is unlikely to sort much out, according to Michael Boogerd on Dutch tv, he reckons it's not hard enough.

Tony Martin back with the group!

Don't think Lance is used to being blown up at the bottom of a climb. Liqui, Saxo, and Garmin were brilliant to break up the Astana train right at the bottom. Astana must have been shocked; then Alberto launched off that, it's pretty demoralizing....

Riis had pegged Verbier as a climb Lance could spin up; hence their devastating attack at the bottom to take him off his game. Also may explain Sastre's grumpiness about teams riding against him (ie Saxo, who must know his SRM figures and what a fast attack at the bottom would do to him).

Saxo's Sorensen pulled 450 watts for 4 mins at bottom of climb at 178 bpm hr.

I am wondering how much time Karpets is going to be allowed to finish with. He is not much of a threat in the ITT but can still threaten a top ten in the GC if given too much leeway today.

Now that's weird for armstrong to say, Even though I don't like the guy he has been much more cordial than in previous years, he has been more approachable than when he was winning the tour, even the french don't seem to hate him this year. Bob roll's comment's do annoy me though the guy has always been a little off.

Susan Westemeyer tells us that a search was carried out today:

Swiss customs officials stopped and searched an Astana team truck today. Team spokesman Philippe Maertens confirmed to the German news agency dpa that the search lasted three hours, but that nothing suspicious was found.

Good. Would think teams would tend to use unmarked motorcycles, etc., with pannier bags. Think that's what Floyd said about Discovery (at least as recounted by Vaughters/Andreu conversation).

I'd better shut up here, so we don't have to check into "The Clinic" at CN, LOL :D

He isn't that bad at TTing - he was in the top 20 in stage 1. Anyway, it'd be nice to see him get a top 10 - he's never really delivered in GTs since his white jersey (apart from one or two top 10s)

He was also Top-4 at the final time trial in 2007, so he can be a major threat if given too much time. However, the couple at the front starts to lose time to the main bunch.

Really? Can you give me the link to that! It's like Hinault saying he couldn't match Lance...thats weird! Are you trying to stir up more emotions like the media?

Finally a bit talk about whats really important!

I read somewhere else that he was in a 15 man strong group together with the Not-Green-Anymore-Monster.

Any new information anyone?

Van Hummel now solo, 20 minutes behind the group.:(

Sorry, my bad. I should have said not much of a threat to the top five Contador, Armstrong, Wiggins, Kloden and Schlekt (although he could beat Schlekt).

Lang riding away from the peloton on a climb must mean something.
He was caught real fast. I'm a bit surrised that Van Den Broeck was the one that tried to bridge the gap to Lefevre. Is he going for a stage win or is he waiting for Evans?

Vogt is definitely waiting for Schlecks.

Might be.
But maybe they only want to make the race hard.
You never know who might explode do you?
Also you can weaken your opponents for the queen stage.

That's my thought. Trying to sap the strength of the other GC candidates and the domestiques. Maybe seeing what Wiggins really has in the tank.

Why is Van den Broeck attacking like that? Shouldn't he help Evans?

no.

a stage win is the only thing silence can get this tour.
jvdb is the only one in the team who has a chance of winning one.
