Awesome, just wonderful team work by Contador. Let's knock the teammates off the podium, so they can concentrate on just helping him.

Just looked at the replay, Contador shut down the attack when he saw Kloden was dislodged. Maybe he was setting up a Kloden counter-attack. I guess we will find out soon enough since I'm sure that will be the first question Contador gets today. ;)

Dumbest TdF Victor

Mr Contador for no reason whatsoever shed his loyal teammate on the final climb of the day and cost Kloden a much higher stage finish (maybe even a win) and maybe a podium position - for what!. What a buddy.

Slow no, but not stupid enough to think JB will be ****ed about it. Wanted to make sure no gaps!!!

He was in Contador's ear with 500m to go (weird in and of itself). How big a gap are they going to get in 500m?!?!?! And, the bike throw?? C'mon, I'm simply saying something odd went down in that little convo.

I agree. The Schlecks are going to get buried tomorrow, with the hopes of getting it back on Ventoux. Lance looked good. He pushed it hard on the descent though, which may cost him.

I don't know much about riding, but I'm thinking that pushing hard on a descent doesn't take much out of you, unless you crash.

You know that is how his brain works. This will be his undoing. If not this tour, it will be reaped on a new team.

They did ALL of the work today, not just on the descent... they were on their limit for 2 straight hours. In addition neither one of them can ride a good time trial to save their life

Astana podium a distinct possiblity. Just so happens that the two strongest teams had the same objective, to destroy Wiggins.
Then, Nibali puts the boot it.

Armstrong amazing recuperative powers. I thought he'd go backwards, after Verbier, but did a pretty good job of removing Wiggins's podium hopes.
Chapeau to the old bug*er.

Even if Wiggins retakes a podium spot, tomorrow, which is no gimme, the two big teams will kick sand in his eyes on the Ventoux.

The schlecks were awesome !

Agreed. Riis is something else with his tactical maneuvers. Definitely my favorite to watch on what the whole team is up to.

The way Frank dropped Wiggins/Armstrong was pure genius.

Sastre finished 7.47 back... Is he trying to create a gap to attack on the Ventoux? What happened to last year's top dogs? Evans and Menchov haven't even come in...

Van den Broek only lost 6m for SIL, and Grischa Niermann was the first RAB to come in ;)

EDIT: Menchov came in with Flecha, 21m. No reports on Cadel...

Agree on both counts.

On latter, people must still think he's doped to his eyeballs? :D Physics says he can do it on one stage (watts/kg), experience/pedigree says not on consecutive ones. He's clean.

Again, 1,2,3 on podium for one team not good for cycling. Shades of Mapei. It's done by team, not individual.

Andy has improved some. He needs a lot more improvement.

Fatigue will play a big role here. How far did Wiggins bury himself to limit his time losses?

Here's the thing. AC didn't have to do anything but sit on wheels. By attacking and widening the gap between Klodi and Armstrong, he has made his teammates work for a podium spot that much more difficult. Sure LA and AK may make up some time in the ITT, but then there is Saturday that is advantage Schlecks. Dumb.
