We will hardly see racing for another half an hour, because they are required to get all this commercials in, and since they are promise the entire last hour ascent of Ventoux commercial free, thats means lots of commercials to pack in early

hoping brad has been in discussion with the shlecks to work together...guarantee 2nd for baby and get brad into 3rd at the expense of astana..
[\QUOTE]

I doubt this will happen after seeing Frank and Lance chatting before each of them rode by and dropped Wiggins on Stage 17!

That didn't happen on Stage 17 of this Tour.

OK, now that the JB blow job is over, can we please watch some racing?

No. They are waiting for Bob Roll to give Lance a reach around

I'm going straight to hell.

From VN live coverage
Interesting rumor - and I underscore that it is just that, a rumor - that Bruyneel has asked the Tour to neutralize the stage because of the strong wind. We can't imagine any other contenders' teams agreeing to that.

I really hope that's not true.

I'm still bitter that the one stage of the Giro I got to watch was a bloody go-slow.

So how many people believe that Lance will be riding in front of Contador on the top of Ventoux to help cut the wind for him?

I am just SO grateful that I don't have to watch the coverage you guys get. I saw a brief bit of P&P a few days ago and they were, well, excruciating to listen to.

It could have been stage 16 - it definitely happened as I wondered why the commentators didn't mention it at the time and why it hasn't been mentioned in the media ... If you've got it recorded, I suggest you replay and look for it ...

Do you only get Dutch language coverage or is it in English and Dutch? Mine starts in 15 minutes.

Wiggins was dropped on the slopes of the Colombiere. He was in all of the moves before that. The only thing I assume you are talking about is when Frank rode away from Lance and Wiggins on the slopes of the Col de Romme. But that was Lance's fault (slow pedaling and looking at his pedals; Wiggins almost crashes into him), not some plan between the two.

I have a choice of Dutch of Belgian tv, obviously in Dutch, and also Eurosport, which I can listen to in Dutch or English. We're pretty much spoiled for choice here.;) Both channels started at 13:40 CET.

I can't listen to Eurosport in English though because Sean Kelly drives me crazy with his almost unintelligible drivel.

I can't exactly remember which climb it was, but Wiggins did get back to them and Frank then went ahead to join Andy and AC (not sure where Klodi was at the time).

Col de Romme. Andy was up the road isolated with Contador and Kloden.

You can watch English coverage right now live. It's an Aussie guy for now, but later they have Phil and Paul . . . buy no commercial breaks.

Thanks for this - wish I'd known of it earlier in the tour :)

Weather conditions not looking good:
"On the Ventoux, we understand that winds of 110km/h have been recorded earlier today... It's going to be very tough for the riders - the sheltered section is early on during the climb, while the last few kilometres are exposed. Tactics are going to be crucial into what is expected to be a strong headwind."

Pre-Tour I would have tipped Denis Menchov since he has won up on Ventoux twice at the Dauphine, but seeing howh e is riding ATM, he will be dropped as soon as the road goes skywards.

Yeah, after watching this channel it finally made sense to me why on the Versus TV coverage you'd sometimes hear Paul talking in the background. After watching this online feed(I think it's Australian), it all makes sense. During the Versus commercial breaks Paul continues talking for the Aussie feed, Phil sometimes joins him. Then when Versus starts again, Phil starts talking for Versus feed while Paul is still talking for the Aussie feed. then at some point they talk together again. It's a real juggling act I suppose.
