The problem is that Cadel can't drop anyone. :p I appreciate his vain attempts at aggressiveness, but nothing about his climbing style makes me confident that he can simply ride away from the group of contenders.

You know what, I have never liked the guy before, but he seems to be the only one willing to at least try. You are right, he probably cannot drop them, but I think he will try.

I'm hoping Cadel attacks before the bottom of col de moses.

Although perhaps that is because I'm waiting by the side of the road around there with a 9 year old. She is the reason I had to bail on watching at Verbier due to bee sting on her foot and her refusal to try and walk.

Just saw the Astana train Mr. Kloden was on the end, so maybe he is the protected rider;)

How hilarious would that be: Contador attacks only the best stay with him, LA, CE, AS, CVV, CS Then BAM Kloden goes up the road takes the stage and the jersey:D

The only reason he is willing is because he has the most to make up. If he was closer to the lead, he wouldnt be doing crap.

Do you think today's stage will allow us to draw a definitive conclusion about the Lance vs. Alberto feud? I think that if Lance does not attack today, that means he's resigned himself to helping Contador, since he really needs to take the maillot jaune as soon as possible to "inhibit" Contador from attacking him further down the road. Therefore, if the still wants to win the Tour, I think he's got to drop any pretension of team spirit today.

I was laughing my *** off when he did his 7 men that will be the kings of the alps. I think if he put lance number 2 behind contador he would be acting like a fan boy.

After he put lance number 1 I could actually see the doo doo on his nose

Jeebus. I'm surprised he hasn't been reporting from Lance's hotel room and sniffing his dirty bibs. :p

JB just said that "Contador wants to attack . . . Lance wants to stay where he is..." which says a LOT.

That would be sweet, however unlikely it may be.

He certainly deserves it after all those years of busting his nuts for ullrich et al

No, I am pretty sure that there are other guys who need to make up time to win, and none of them have shown half the balls Cadel has.

it is hard to argue that lance can be that on form when he looks so damned ugly on the bike.

A couple of years ago I remember Liggett was lambasting Soler for being the ugglist bike rider ever... I think Lance has stolen that title away from poor mauricio

I think there already has been a definite conclusion to the "feud". Alberto is the guy for Astana.

I just had an image in my head similar to the Dave Chappelle skit where he was being born! :D

Van Hummel 20 minutes behind and on his own. At this rate he'll never make it on time.

JB told a Dutch reporter this morning that they have a plan, and that AC 'may' attack if he wants to. Make of that what you will.

Compared to his earlier form (pre-retirement) it looks like he is fighting his bike.

Oh, come on. Soler is in a league of his own.

I would like to see one or more teams (Saxo Bank?) put the pressure on before the penultimate climb. You can't let Astana get to the foot of the Verbier with Zubeldia, Popo and Kloden. Not if you want to pick up time on AC or LA.

Now would be the moment for Saxo or Lotto to set a strong rhythm to shed as many Astanas as possible, in order to isolate their leaders before the final climb. LA and AC are even more invincible if they have four teammates at their side.

What in the hell is going on at the front of the peloton? Are they protesting or something?

I don't like to bring up "you know who" excessively but he is riding pretty far down the peloton. About 2/3 down. Maybe he is gonna get some bottles for once?

Bobby Drivel will probably be on suicide watch by now:D

Sorry couldnt resist again

Maybe , the AST wants to give Astaloza a big gap, so even if AC attacks and gets time on LA, AC still won't be in yellow.

if that happens LA can still say "it's wide open, AC isn't in yellow it"
