Sagan stomping the ground with a stick...
Apparently a tradition?
They have been doing it at the start of every session of the games. It's a nod to the tradition of French theater of striking the ground three times to mark the start of the performance (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trois_coups). Pretty cool way of involving past generations of champions imo and I hope it sticks for future Olympics.

The Danes once again thinking that they are so superior that they can easily put two guys in front of the peloton. I was hoping for a bit more humility from the Danish team this time, but no ...
At the speed the peloton is going every country (if they had 2 riders) could easily put two guys in the front. It wouldn’t surprise me if they have an average of 125w or something so far.

All watts count in a race that is so long. There is no such thing as a free lunch, and we know from many championships that the Danish squad gets reduced way too early. It's simply wrong by Denmark to make this statement at this point - Bjerg and Mørkøv are among the weakest riders if you take the big teams.

Riding around at 35 kilometers an hour costs nothing.

What Bjerg is doing now obviously does.

BTW, has any of my fellow Danes been able to find the proper - uninterrupted - coverage on DRTV?

I could only find one that started at 11:00 (they said 10:50, but that was a lie), until 12:00, and then another from 12:00 until 18:00.
Not the one from 11:00 until 18:00...

I just thought it looked funny.

And I've watched the ITTs, the men's MTB, and a bit of athletics. Neither of which I caught the beginning of.
Why would I watch other sports?
Not really into that much else than cycling and athletics. Well, I guess I have watched a bit of the basketball tourney, but thats all honestly.

Remember to tune in now - 100 metres is starting!!
