Olympic Road Race Men

After the 2011 WC, the 2012 TdF and now this, I would say that David Brailsford is the worst thing that I have ever seen happen to professional Road Racing. Robot Racing at its finest. Where is the beauty of sport? Winning has become such a science that it has sucked all the life out of cycling.

Actually if it does come to a sprint, Greipel has the better leadout with Sieberg and Degenkolb, fresh.

No, wait for or force a move of ~5 strong riders.

Yeah, that's going to happen.

His plan was to get some other people with him, but like always in cycling no one followed.

Eisel and Urán sicken me
Screw Olympic spirit, apparently. They're riding for Sky.

I mean I don't give a toss about the olympics and this disgusts even me. Those two should go hang their heads in a hole.

Sky pay their wages and these guys are professional sportsmen not athletic club amateurs so they know exactly which side their bread is buttered.

It will be pretty good if Eddie Bodog leads Cav out:p

Get over it guys. It's as old as the sport itself and goes all the way back to when the Tour teams were nationality based. Alliances were always formed based on the trade teams they rode for the rest of season. Nothing new here.
That doesn't make it right.

Have to agree with this. Although if I was the cycling federation of my country, I would not select them ever again.

Exactly.

The broadcast team isn't too sharp. The peloton's taking a "break" and they are getting it all in HD glory.

Pat McQuaid explains and are very pleased with the chain of events that has rolled out in front of us during the last months since Paris-Nice (with Sky never losing in front since then).

And soon Froome will have a serious shot at the Vuelta.

LOL. the UCI are in the business of writing fairy tales?

No, that wasn't my point. I would be surprised because he always seems to lack power at the end of the big classics.

Based on his TDF form he should be fine. I think his lack of power was due to his diet.

And soloing 60 km with UK Postal pulling behind is going to happen?

We've seen Gilbert do this before this season. It shows his heart is currently much stronger than his legs.

Oh c'mon ... this is as much of homer course for Cav as one can get !

Nothing really wrong with it either ...

Nothing that any other country would not do though , cuz how many gold medals is GB going to win anyways ? Not many ! Events like this don't have to be a "fair" test .... that's the privilege of being awarded the games ... you can make them to suit your riders. And when you have a Cav on your home team... you'd be stupid NOT to make a homer course for him !!

No its not. They originally made a course that was flatter than 50 laps round the champs elysee that visited all Londons monuments.

Everyone said it was a cav course then they, god knows why, changed it into a course that by the standards.of London (where it has to take place;)) is very hard.

Apparently UCI told them the first design was too easy for the Games.

By that analogy, why not just pay another 50 riders to take some pulls.

Just call the Olympic road race a post tour de france criterium with prefixed outcomes.
