Olympics 2020 (2021): Harder to dope in Japan?

Page 8 - Get up to date with the latest news, scores & standings from the Cycling News Community.
that doesnt work in the clinic if you claim bikes are better now;

No, but it still makes a difference, though it might sometimes be exaggerated by the people involved in order to hide something else that's going on.

I'm not suggesting, and I don't think anyone else were either, that Felix or Kipyegon are totally clean now or that they were 5 years ago either, but Aimar16's reasoning was simply all over the place. Doping is not always the sole explanation for faster times/higher level.

Felix is 35, not 36.

The whole field is doped to the eyeballs. Most dopers decline in their mid and late 20s (Bolt and many others) some in their early 30s, but a few can compete until their mid thirties. I don't think you can dope your way out of age-related decline when you have always doped and all your competitors are on rocket fuel, too.

Both Felix (35) and Fraser-Pryce(34) plan to retire (well) before the Paris Olympics.

She is miraculously not only super fast at 400 meters at the age of 36 but she is probably also the best shoe manufacturer in the world.

1- Start a shoe business
2- A month later, win a bronze medal at the age of 36 at the Olympics in your own shoes
3- profit $$$

Again I'm not claiming she isn't doped, but only that the crazy time isn't a result of doping alone, cause she was (most likely) also doing that 5 years ago.

And of course Ingebrigtsen wins in Olympic record time in Tokyo, because global warming has long reached Norway too and so he's prepared for these conditions from childhood on.

Considering Kipsang beat the previous OR in the semifinal, it was pretty much given that it would ot at least could be broken again today though, which it also was by the entire top 6.

But of course Ingebrigtsen's level is pretty suspect, but it didn't come completely out of nowhere like some of the other results we've seen.

Yeah, it's more... I guess I'm a bit racist here, but whenever a completely white person wins such a race against the East-Africans I find that very suspicious already, under certain circumstances I'm willing to say "okay", but if then another factor like quite a fast time comes into play...
I don't know, I cannot make sense of all these times and events this year in Tokyo anyway, maybe I'm just out of it all, there may be a bunch of developments I don't know about or understand.

The Ingebrigtsens family is definitely as talented as they are alien like, so it highly likely they are doing something illegal, but whether they have better opportunities to do that than many other athletes, I can't say.

Kerr running 3:29 seems to be just as if not more crazy though.

I wonder if Dawid Tomalanuclear will keep his gold in the 50 km race walk. It was pretty hard conditions, as illustrated by the slow winning time, but he was still very close to his PB and could probably have beaten it, if he had paced himself a little better.

Felix only had the third fastest split on her relay today. Probably the slowest considering the leadoff doesn't get a running start.

McLaughlin 50.0
Felix 49.6
Muhammad 49.0
Mu 48.4

With all that firepower, they still didn't get very close to the USSR world record. Still about 2s short. 1.5s behind another FloJo led American record.

It gets harder to avoid injuries too. Wariner kept running world class times into his 30s too. He just couldn't stay healthy.
What's all this suspicion guys.

The Dutch got silver at the 4x400 it barely can get any cleanzer
A national record for the women too.

Good points. I had forgotten about the 400m. Considering how many records are virtually untouchable, I wonder why the 400m hurdle record is not. Did they run 300m hurdles for the women back then? Or a different hurdle height, so they could have a pretext to sweep the old records under the rug?

Yikes. A picture is worth a thousand words.

400m hurdles was a late addition to olympics, first appeared in 1984 (which eastern bloc didn't appear in), so the focus historically would not have been there. Then cames the late 1980s and thankfully the downfall of so many socialist regimes

I read that Jacobs is not in the AIU testpool because he didn't run below 10 before May?

That is correct.

Facts? Schmacts! Never - ever - let reality get in the way of fantasies. Ever.
A spokesperson for the Athletics Integrity Unit, which is affiliated with the World Athletics, confirmed Jacobs has “undergone a substantial amount of testing” in 2021 and “has been tested multiple times during the Games in Tokyo.” All of Jacobs’ tests analyzed so far have been negative for substances on the World Anti-Doping Association's prohibited list, the AIU spokesperson told Yahoo Sports.

We don't need no stinkin' facts 'round here, this is the Clinic!

(For those not getting it: not testing positive don't mean an awful lot, we all know that. But it does mean he's been tested, contrariwise to what some would like folk to believe.)
