Think you'll find Trentin is still under-cooked so expect little from MS -

I'm going to go for a bold prediction and say Edmondson will top 15, I think his form is great and his nous at Nationals might just get him into a good group near the end (not the front group though). I might be overly optimistic though, at least for this year.

Edmondson is the long term plan for the classics - My guess is next year he'll start getting top 10's in these races - He may go OK this week in Het seeing Durbridge and Trentin are under-cooked - An extremely talented rider.

I don't have my heart too set on any one rider winning it. I'm just glad this part of the season is finally starting. I only get to watch races live when I skip out on my own riding. No race so far has pulled my attention enough to do that. The spring classics always do!

It will be interesting to see if Dillier gets more freedom at AG2R. It will be difficult though with Naesen being one of the Top 5 cobbled contenders this year. Still, I think the hierarchy isn't as stiff as at BMC, so I'm hoping for some breakaway action at least.

That's the plan. Dillier/Gougeard/Gallopin/etc. in the break, Naesen in the pack with the other big guns.

finally...

i know the final will be diferent but just re-watched Omloop 2015.. how could it ever happened?!?!

I will not ever forget that beautiful moment.
How is Stannard actually doing? I've got no news on him.
Expected him to step it up last year.

Stannard is not racing here for some reason but I except Van Baarle to deliver.

Based on last year, he is already a top 10 cobbles rider but with Sky's budget and strong team structure, he could be even better.

The new final should suit him well. Dylan seems to be better on the cobbled bergs of Flanders than the flat stones of Roubaix.

GVA's race to lose, I think.

*****GVA
****Wellens, Gilbert
***Stybar, Naesen, Felline, Terpstra, Colbrelli
**Lutsenko, Vanmarcke, Benoot, Matthews, Stuyven
*Demare, Gaviria, EBH, Cort, Durbridge, Trentin

Uh, sorry to interrupt, but the race is called Het Volk.

Which teams do you think will do well?

Personally, I think ONCE is starting with a strong line-up with Lutsenko and the Danish duo of Cort and Valgren. Casino also look good with Naesen and a strong support group - the same with Garmin. Mapei also look frightening. Skil-Shimano have an interesting trio with Kragh, Matthews and Theuns.

NetApp don't have Sagan, and Rabobank and Lampre aren't fielding the strongest squads.

It would have been interesting to see Banesto in the race - with Valverde, Sütterlin, Amador and Erviti, they have some potentially good riders for this race.

It's a shame Johann Musseuw will be missing the race, but I'm eager to see that young lad from Us Postal, Tom Boonen :D
