Stannard started his sprint early to get the jump and was fading at the end. It was tactically very sharp, like when Gilbert jumped early at Paris-Tours 2009 to beat the superior sprinters Boonen and Bozic.

Whatever sprint GVA had earlier in his career is now gone but the strongest rider won today not the quickest. GVA simply should have stayed behind Stannard. Can't understand why he went to the front in the last km when the group behind was a safe distance away.

He pulled way too much. Obviously he has the strength but he's not known for his turn of speed. Van Avermaet is a bit of a loser though so Stannard probably add that up to his math

The OPQS dominance is pretty non-existent. Terpstra almost saved the day for his team. It turns out BMC, Belkin, and Sky are all stronger collectively.

Stannard was the strongest? He got lucky by slipping away just as the group got together.

Vanmarcke was BY FAR the strongest, followed by Terpstra and EBH.
