Even I know it's a tall order for Westra to stand a chance of beating Wiggins. Wiggins is probably 80% favorite. But with every comment I read of people thinking it's a certainty Wiggins wins and it's all wrapped up, I hope more that Westra pulls the stunt off...

the climb is a bit tougher then what i was lead to think, it's actually a nice mix of actual climbing+ false flat sections, if it had a couple pace breaking steep parts above 15% would be a perfect MTT.

i think wiggins will come out on top on his fight against westra to be honest. shame piti still seems to be missing some racing days otherwise he could have also been in the mix, but if he wasn't able to make the difference on mende he certainly won't making it here

that guy is so overrated . . . . it's almost annoying, actually it's not almost annoying, it simply is annoying. there are plenty of much more talented riders that aren't talked up nearly as much as that guy

Wiggins will win the overall I think, hoping for Leipheimer to win the stage, after today he deserves it.

Wiggins will probably win the stage and the overall. Westra will top 3 on the stage and finish 2nd overall. Someone to surprise in 2nd place for the stage. Might be Tony.

I'll root for Westra, because at least when he whines, he knows the difference between "verliezen" and "los".

So with one typo on a tweet, Wiggins is now illiterate, is that what you're saying?

Thomas de Gendt was asked by Sporza after yesterday's stage about Westra's chances. He said he was almost certain Westra would pull it off.:):)

I am posting this in both Saturday's and Sunday's Paris-Nice threads. It deals more with Saturday but I figure more people will see it here.

It is NOT acceptable to wish injury on a rider or rejoice when he crashes. It is equally unacceptable to make broad-based negative comments concerning persons of any given nationality or ethnic group.

Further such comments will be deleted and will entail an automatic 24 hour ban, repetitions will bring longer bans.

Wiggins is only seven points behind Valverde in the points competition so there is a chance that Wiggo could take that. Cant imagine he's won many points jerseys before?

All for Westra

Wiggins looks himself like one of the big bosses of the peloton and with the right to judge the others. I don't like him.

I'd say that, judging from the first TT and Wiggins holding his own on all the climbs, he'll be good enough to take the overall here.

Not that I'm happy about that, I've never really liked Wiggins; when I seem him on the podium, wearing the yellow jersey, it's as if it's bothering him to be there, and I never saw him show any enthusiasm in the interviews either. He's also not the most exciting racer...

As far as the stage win is concerned, I wouldn't be sure of anything.

Wiggo will never lose this, I say stage win with at least 15 seconds. TVG on the podium after a strong TT today.

Stage:
1. Wiggo
2. TVG
3. Westra

GC:
1. Wiggo
2. Westra
3. TVG

Don't really understand the hate for Wiggins - I think its quite easy to take him the wrong way though.

When he's been out training with us he's always been sound.

Anyways, I think the benefit of riding last will be enough for him to be able to ride to Westra's pace and nothing more - consequently he will pull it off.

I hope Tony can show some improvement tomorow. If not he should drop out of the season, do a training period and return to racing in late May

You watching cycling = me watching figure skating.
I don't know a damn thing about that sport but I like that russian girl.

I have no problems with him. Still I hope Westra wins for obvious reasons.

Wiggins will keep the GC though.

I like Wiggins, great rider with great determination. Sometimes real funny in interviews, and always reasonable.

He was ****ed off at the Vuelta at the info being given to him from his DS so in the WC he rode without updates. He may well not know anything about Westra then

Ha. Fairly risky policy :)
