More and more proof it's a climbers tt when a guy like Hubert Dupont is only 2 second slower than Martin at the split

You're right, if you look at the profile and disregard the last 1.6k, we have 8k at almost 6%.

Still think a highly motivated Wiggo will do well.

Ofcourse Wiggins will do well because he's one of the best climbers in the race.

Not because of his TT pedigree this time

Tony Martin recovered some time on the flatter section at the top.

Yet he only gained 1 second on TT monster Bart de Clerq between part 1 and part 2.

So I really think that is negligible

I think it was obvious Porte wasn't going to do well after the sickness and the hard fall on Stage 2.
I think it's obvious it didn't affect him too much, if you look at how he shred the field on the Mende stage.

Why do you keep saying De Clercq can't TT? Look at the Algarve results. Maybe someone who really can't TT would be a better comparison.

Where am I saying De Clerq can't TT? He's just more of a climber that's all.

Well at least he did better then last Sunday.
Still, he should go back to training and not race till May
This is a great result actually...the extra work he did yesterday, and I'm sure he wasn't 100% motivated as he would've been if close to the leaders.
