This could be a blessing in disguise for the race.
I mean, Contador and Porte are here for the GC, I doubt they'll settle for stages.
But the gap needs to be contained still. 1 to 1½ minutes is okay. It will only make the race less interesting if they lose way too much time.

Looks like the only Trek riders in that 2nd group are Degenkolb and Contador... useless

When was the last time he had a/was in a decent team?

It's quite embarrassing to see.

He's got 2 teammates there. It's just one of them won't work.
IOW, his team is ****. Only 2 made it and one of them doesn't care.

We all know you are very mad at this point, but 1) its his own fault and 2) he actively chose to ride for this team.

Point: Missed.

Relevancy: Not Found.

Great racing once again. It's gonna be a fun week with Contador, Bardet and Zakarin going all out.

Contador will try, but he's gonna have 4 teams after him. Going on the Saint Martin and on the Peille again is his only hope. Hoping BMC will go along with it.

Coquard wins this if it goes to a sprint, is the only sprinter who isn't working. Smart guy.

This will be a great race because contador and bardet will attack for sure. Porte didn't ever attack from far out

It's more growing than dropping. Closer they'll be getting to the finish, the front group will get faster. Chasing group won't be accelerating as fast as the group fighting for the stage victory.

All depends on how big the gap is at the end. If the chase group keeps it together and manages to limit their losses within 2-3 minutes, we'll have one hell of a race on our hands later next week.

Why arent Zakarin, Porte and Contador working at the front?
Sergio, Dan Martin, Griepel, Kittel working in the front group. Great coordination.

Katusha finally started working now. 1'20 would be perfect for the race, 2'00 might be a tad too much for Porte and Conta.

What I don't get is why Degenkolb, Contador, Porte are starting to work.

The second group looks like they are not even trying... Why must thing go wrong so early... It is a disaster...
