I personally admire the fear fighting squad. But from some more general point of view it likely it makes sense to cancel Paris-Nice race.

If Bahrain-McLaren didn't meaninglessly accelerate some 15km to the finish to launch Teuns for the sprint to gain merely one second, probably Tratnik would have won. He was so strong, he got rid of Gougeard on the flat without even attacking. The Frenchman just couldn't keep up. Oh well, too bad.

Poor Tratnik, good effort tho! Chapeau also to Bonifazio, that looked really strong!
As much as I love TDE that was heartbreaking. What a crazy last second change of direction from Bonifazio at the end too. I thought he was gonna go right into the back of Tratnik

Tomorrow's route is +1 for scenery in the Vaucluse (although the race may already be past the best spots before the broadcast starts). Does anyone have any details for the hill in Apt with 3 km to go? I was in Apt a few years ago and I remember it being pretty flat in the main part of town.

1.4km at 8% avg apparently. Followed by a just under 2km descent to the line.

Thanks. So maybe enough to shed the sprinters, but not enough for pure climbers to get rid of the Classics guys? Perhaps will depend on how hard they ride the earlier climbs.

Thought about praising the route just before reading your comment. The stage I'd most gladly ride of all 8.

Just about right.

Reduced group of 10-20 riders IMO. Looks like another stage for Schachmann.

Alaphilippe is the main threat. Teuns is a fast. Young Higuita is quick too. But a late escapee could steal the victory.

Official! Paris-Nice will stop on Saturday afternoon, at the end of the 7th stage! One stage before the expected end of race!

Why are the riders safer traveling home then at riding paris-nice without contact to the public?
Most of us have more contact to the public going to work and at work then the riders at a pro peloton.
I don't feel safer here in munic at work and at traveling to work. They don't stop that either at the moment.

That's exactly my thinking as well.

Sport isn't viewed as important as your work maybe?

I don
Sport isn't viewed as important as your work maybe?

I don't think so to be honest :)
The only thing really important are doctors, hospitals and so on. Cycling should be more important for the economy then most of our jobs. So its time to cancel work unless it can be done at home.

They are making a mistake, and they will regret it later.
As in Italy.

Full support to the teams withdrawing. Taking full responsability while ASO and the authorities are cowardly avoiding it.

There are rumors that some teams wont start anymore
5 voted against a continuation of the race, apparently. If we leave out Bahrain and some of the teams who probably voted against it because they are high up in GC but still will continue anyway, there probably can't be many more others left who won't

I would send the riders home immediately. The risk is not so much infection -- although I don't want to minimize it -- but being trapped in a quarantine or stuck if a border is closed or travel restrictions imposed. Think about TJVG -- he would have been unable to reach his family in the US if he hadn't left. At this moment family is much more important than anything else. Just my opinion.

You do realise, whilst we think these guys and gals are super hero's they're not. They have familes at home too. Loved ones etc. It's not just about the physical well being of the riders and the staff, there is also the mental side too.

Add to that, the riders and staff aren't on the road 24/7. They have to go into hotels which, funnily enough, are served by, wow, you guessed it, members of the public.
