Matthews finished 7th last year on a hillier and slightly longer course, so I wouldn't discount him either. But with the bike sponsor switcheroo between Jumbo, BikeExchange and DSM, things could be different today.

What's the point of disc brakes on a TT bike on such a flat course when you're not even braking. It's just an added drag, since rim brakes on a TT bike are usually hidden within the frame. It might be just a watt, but it makes no sense.
