He should have stopped pulling on Col d' Èze yes. If he can't drop Jorgenson, and he already has 2nd place, i think Jorgenson has more reason to pull to seal his win, than it is for Evenepoel to pull just to come 2nd. Whether he finishes 2nd by 5 seconds or by 5 minutes, doesn't really change anything for him. At that point it was up to Jorgenson to defend his lead.

Pretty decent from Plapp in his first stage race since crashing at The TDU. I wonder how Jayco will use him?

No surprise for me when you consider he came down from altitude, looked skinny and most importantly he is talented - In saying that I think he could be a decent classics rider.

Hopefully. Given that they've only got Yates and Dunbar, wondered if they might try him as GT rider, but Jayco are usually pretty good at maximising their resources.

They are training him to be a GC rider - Jayco's biggest problem is that they are awful at cobbled classics and generally one day races and their two sprinters are struggling for form. Don't be surprised if O'Connor is on the team next year.

Awful from Roglic. Disappointing by Evenepoel. Vingegaards second last domestique being better than both tells you quite straight forward why he and Pogacar will again be a level or two above the rest at the Tour and Evenepoel and even more Roglic won't change that.

Now maybe I challenged universe enough with that bold statement to make a 4-5 man fight happen at the Tour

Tbh his interviews have been pretty boring and sometimes I get a "what kind of stupid question is that" vibe from him. Doesn't seem to understand that the interview is a chance for the public to get to know his personality, or is his mind really that blank?

I haven't been around him for several years, but in my interactions with him he is polite, intelligent, and yes, reserved. So that IS his personality that you are getting in his interviews. I would also say that his mind is far from blank, but he isn't the kind of kid who has to prove anything to others.

Oldermanish, you've been around him too right? Would you agree?

Just can't see him as a GT rider, though he could definitely fill that gap in one-day hilly races, and probably worth trying on the cobbles.

Reserved is coming across in the TV interviews. Intelligent is not.
