Strong break, hope Visma is happy to let bonus seconds (and maybe the jersey??) go. No one of those 8 should be a GC threat even if they get the jersey with a minute or so.
With the risk of bad weather and the potential, that upcoming stages could be shortened, I wouldn´t give the jersey away right now..

If Leknessund wins and Stage 7 gets cancelled, they have put themselves in jeopardy for no reason.

It isn't half and half. It's a TTT. No team would have made any changes to their lineups if it had been the old and much poorer rules.
There's a huge difference in counting individual times vs the ones I saw in the past where they took the time of the 4:th rider.

But it definitely has to be the first stage. Not thrown in after 2 sprint stages. That's insanity imhno.

Of course there's a difference, but it doesn't make a difference in team selection. You obviously still need great TT guys which most teams had chosen to select. And they wouldn't have selected anybody else if the rules had been the old ones.

I don't think this stage is so much about what Visma wants, though. Maybe the coming days, if they turn up dominating on the climb today, but currently UAE, Bahrain etc all have good reason to believe that they can win the stage.

TA has rain and PN goes one better with snow! "It's the most wonderful time of the year"!

Auron, which is already covered in snow, is expected to receive an additional 30 centimetres, and snow is also forecasted on Col de la Colmiane, the penultimate climb of Saturday’s route. ... With such extreme weather in store, the ASO may be forced to modify the route, just as they did last year when conditions also made Auron and Col de la Colmiane inaccessible. On that occasion, the finish was moved to Madone d’Utelle, a more manageable summit at lower altitude.

there's a hailstorm at the finish now, according to the commentator on the international feed (whoever it is)

What's the plan there for Ineos? Only really makes sense if Sheffield bridges at the top.

Well, what shall they do? Staying in the peloton and waiting till the last climb where others are simply stronger? Now they try to use the strenghts of Tarling and Foss as rouleurs and bridge to Swift later, who can also help. There arent much possibilities for a great result, this way they at least try to get Foss in front. If they wont make it, at least the others had some work to do and maybe Sheffield stays fresh.
