Ruta del Sol= Second place
This Paris-Nice= he's in decent condition for sure, but still has a long way to go. It's not like he finished 5 minutes behind or anything...

It's unfair to say he's the same as Andy Schleck. He tries more, he just doesn't have the talent some other climbers have.

And trust me, Gesink is going to need Lulu in the Tour.

I don't see anyone going into a discussion about Contador's mountain goats(Navarro, etc)
They might not win a lot, but they're mountain goats for sure.
In the Ruta he got second behind Markel Irizar, for crying out loud. That's just a training race. Here in Paris-Nice is where VDB has to show he can stick it to the big guys. How the hell did he not make it to that front group?

lawlzz, Samu needs some hardcore help on his bike throw. He did stop pedalling at one point during his sprint (mechanical as Taiwan suggested?)

As much as it pains me that Samu lost to Klodi here, props to Klodi for making black shoes and black socks actually look classy (very few could pull it off)

Their palmares doesn't desperately need a win, or a podium in a meaningful race. I thought VDB came here with ambitions, certainly his team seemed to think so.

Paris-Nice is not yet over.

Vino came here with ambitions as well.

How many victories does Germany have so far?

Degenkolb twice, Greipel, Klemme, Klöden, quite possibly Martin ... Germans rock this season, together with French and Dutch

What is so wrong with Kloden?

just that attitude from someone who dont want to win... LL is the master of that but Kloden comes 2nd in that classification...

Sean Yates: "Tomorrow the weather should be OK but at the weekend it could get pretty rough and that could lead to some chaos and make things much harder than it would have been otherwise."

Looks like there could be some fireworks on the last stages after all.

9, as do the Dutch. France has 27, though many are of the smaller variety.
Complete list

This really is an entertaining race.

Kloden outsprinting Sanchez LOL

great news for old guys everywhere even if Kloden is damned by association

(On previous threads I commented on the lack of steepness of the climbs on Saturday's stage as that is where part of my family lives and I have done those climbs many times.

I forgot though that my relative's house is 1/3 up the Cote de Cabris and the first third is actually quite tough. It is 8-10% avg for 2-3km, compared to famous climbs it is steep like eg the first few km of the Alpe d'Huez. So proper climbers can drop rouleurs there for sure. However a km or so after Cabris there is a flat section to St Vallier where rouleurs will get back on before the Col de Ferrier, which is 6-7% so the TT guys will not get dropped unless on a very bad day.

this race is getting better by the day:)

This is in the Kloden CN article. Anyone know what happened?

"In fact, Klöden had words at the end of stage 4 in Belleville with FDJ's Yoann Offredo."
