Just read an article that tries its hardest to explain why USA are not yet on top, and why it's China who leads with 'whooping medal tally'. The word 'whooping' to describe 13 sounds really funny for anyone used to typical Asian Games medal counts where China's number went into the absurd (Hangzhou 2023 tally was nothing short of hillarious). It's nice to see them struggling to reach 15 for a change!

As an American, all you need to do is watch the women's tennis final or diving, many swimming events and it's clear that China has quality programs in many, many, too many different sports!! If you caught the second set of female tennis gold medal match, there was nothing but physical and mental domination!! And for the record baseball, basketball are cultural assumptions for Americans, and those expectations are misplaced while many countries take practicing fundamentals to another level, previously unimaginable. You can feel national pride, sure that's cool but if you love a certain sport and see it carried out w almost perfection.. Give credit where credit is due.
I often see Remco as a moody, spoiled punk, all can be true. But he has the physical and mental talent to back it up. If you take anything from Paris for me it's training and dedication to fundamentals.. People are absolutely fantastic, prepared!!

Kinda surprised there's such a big crowd for the three-on-three basketball...

Ah, the French ladies are playing, so that would make sense.

Teddy Riner, one of the greatest athletes France have ever had, with a trophy cabinet as big as the Eiffel Tower including three gold Olympic medals, decides, despite his old age and decreasing motivation, to go for it one last time in his hometown Paris and wins another gold on ippon.

What a moment.
He just did it again. The legend keeps getting bigger and bigger...

Shelly-Ann DNS :(
Apparently there was some controversy earlier about her not being allowed to get into the warm-up area due to some rule changes, I'm catching up on all the tea only just now!

Of course I have. I've done athletics! I'm the resident shot-putting expert, did you forget?

I still think it's funny.

It just sounded a bit like when you discovered Tiz after everybody else knowing about it for 10 years. 'Oh, how funny is this annoying comment sound that occurs all the time" :)

Wow, Netherlands gets the gold in the mixed 4x400m relay!

Exciting race, thought the US had it before the last leg, but it was not to be. The US ladies both had beautiful strides though, I'll give them that.
