40km to go, of which circa 15km is cobbles.

Boonen clearly has an advantage there, but not on the rest.

And how will his engine cope in the final 15km after this sort of effort - we don't really no.

This situation favours the bunch riders versus the odds they would have if they were next to Boonen right now.

Seriously? Stannard vs Boonen. Please. Stop embarrassing yourself.

As much as I respect Boonen for his move, I must admit it leaves a bitter taste when he got the gap "by accident" or simply because everyone else were riding like retards.

Would be kind of funny if Sky takes 7th, 9th, 10th and 12th now in the end. ;)

Remember that Tour of Turkey stage a couple of years ago when Cofidis forced the selection and had 3 in the group of 5, and finished 3rd, 4th and 5th?

Stannard won't take anything back on Boonen. Someone else needs to take over or they're racing for second.

Cobbled riders on their own will kill a strong flat road team. Period. Don't argue with me.

It's not as if that Sky team ride the cobbles like Euskaltel. The likes of Stannard and Flecha are more than capable of keeping a high pace up.

How he get the gap? I left the room to get a bite to eat, came back in, asked my girlfriend if anything had happened, she says "Not much, really", and Boonen is on a solo attack. Needless to say, she doesn't follow road racing.

He got it because neither Ballan nor Pozzato was willing to chase him, probably because they didn't want to keep going with Boonen and a helper. If he wins this he wins because he was the strongest.

Why does Sky not ride shorter leads? I mean they got 4 guys. They are totally wasting them though if only one is pulling for a long time. They should circle a lot more.

Go stand in he corner for a few minutes. Have good hard think about what you're saying. Come back when you're ready to contribute intelligently. Don't waste my time.

As long as Terpstra keeps sitting in second wheel, Sky isn't going to catch anyone. They are riding for second place.

Pozzato and Ballan looked back to wait for something (I have no idea what), which caused Terpstra and Boonen to get a gap. They didn't attack or even increase the pace.

Yup it will really be a failure. But they still have 3 domestiques to kill.

They better kill them. The lead grows but the amount of road left shrinks :p

When the strongest rider wins it shouldn't leave any taste like that.
