First few cobbled sections will be very telling.

Both groups shoudl lose some randoms and domestiques already there. With a tailwind, it'll also become harder to pull back. That said, team leaders in the front have expended a lot more energy so far, which is certainly less desirable.

I don't see MvdP starting to do his own work until Arenberg.

All things considered, considering the group sizing, it's a rather abject failure of Van Aert and MvdP to miss this group

I really don't see the 2nd group coming back tbh. Maybe if there's a massive crash in the first group with some Ineos riders involved.

Judging by who's taking turns, Kwiato and Ganna seem to be the protected riders for Ineos?

One has never done anything at P-R, and the other has barely ridden cobbles :confused_old:

I can see it at this gap just cos when VDP, Kung, WVA, Laporte etc put the hammer down they'll knock a huge amount off.
