The old gang is back, fresh from Flanders, minus Pog. Wout and MVDP will battle it out again, but this time without the nasty climbs they will have a lot more competition on the cobbles.
Last year it was Dylan van Baarle who won it in a daring solo, winning by almost 2 minutes ahead of Wout and others.

Notable all-rounder: Wout, MVDP, Laporte, Kung, Ganna, Mohoric, Sheffield, Trentin, Van Baarle, Bettiol
Notable sprinters: Phillipsen, Pedersen, De Lie, Kristoff, Demare, Jakobsen, Merlier, Groves

The list of recent winners really puts a smile on my face. So many results I was happy about. Van Baarle and Colbrelli getting a big win. Gilbert winning monument number 4, Sagan adding PR to his palmares, GVA finally winning a monument and I don't think I need to say much about Hayman. Just tons of feel good stories.

QS classic of bringing in Merlier and Jakobsen, but then again, they might just be better than Lampaert and Senechal...

It feels like an eternity since we have had a regular Paris-Roubaix. Recently Tour of Flanders has been my highlight of the season for me, the ceiling of this race is probably higher as long as the race doesn't get completely RNG'ed by crashes and punctures which is the one real big negative.

Tbf, Lampaert has always been better in Roubaix than in Flanders.

Last 3 editions was 10th (although fighting for a podium before being taken down by a spectator), 5th and 3rd while in Flanders was 30th, 17th, 5th (no Roubaix that year) and 17th.

I am interested in how Kaden groves will perform in his debut - He's got enough power for the cobbles, although I question his endurance.

Florian Vermeersch is my 'outsider' bet for a podium at least. Never seen him so strong, confident and consistent. A bit of bad weather would probably help too?

I think he'll be on on near the podium but at 28/1 still a bit risky for an e/w as I can't see him winning.

Interesting to see how the absentees from Flanders will fare: Ganna, Van Baarle, debutant De Lie...

The guys who showed good shape last Sunday will again be candidates. If Van Aert wins, on a terrain that rewards endurance more than explosiveness, that would mean the Big Three have each won a monument this spring. He will again face eternal rival Van der Poel, and guys like Pedersen, Asgreen, Küng, Pidcock, Trentin, Politt, etc.

This promises to be a huge battle!
