Looks like a heavyweight MMA fighterAstana guy in front break doesn’t look built like a cyclist at all.
Soon we're going to be considering it too short to be a MonumentIn the not too distant future Roubaix is gonna go in sub 5 hours and still be considered an attrition race
Time to stop with this Compiègne - Roubaix farce and have a real Paris - Roubaix. In the not too distant future Roubaix is gonna go in sub 5 hours and still be considered an attrition race
With all the efforts made through the years looking for cobbled farm roads to preserve the spirit of the old race, they might just move the start to Paris. In the not too distant future Roubaix is gonna go in sub 5 hours and still be considered an attrition race
Benoot (...) not on the startlist today because PR is a race not suited for them?
Yeah, probably. That would be about normal procedure for Benoot. I see that his calendar from previous years usually includes the Belgian cobbled classics and the Ardennes, but not PR.Saving himself for Amstel and the Ardennes?
The fact is that he did Roubaix only 3 times in his career and never better than 100th place.
I think the better bikes have a huge influence on Roubaix, much more so than other classics where hills are the main differentiators. Faster bikes makes the asphalt sections easier and drag larger, and bikes that are better able to handle the cobbles will just reduce the natural attrition of the race. In the last few years it's been saved by big tailwinds a few times, but Roubaix is getting easier and easier, and unlike the other monuments, it wouldn't be able to just add a few hills to fix it, although maybe they could. With all the efforts made through the years looking for cobbled farm roads to preserve the spirit of the old race, they might just move the start to Paris.
Haller is actually more of a dangerman, I'd think. But Asgreen too big a name to get more of a gap, unfortunately.Call me crazy. But how does asgreen allowed a nearly two minute advantage?
