I have a bittersweet feeling about this guy. For a moment, I think it's good to see someone able to challenge Pogacar in the Tour and classics but when he finally becomes the top dog in 2 or 3 years. Who is gonna beat this guy after that? A long dominance is expected.
yes , and for the same reason it was different to support pogi in 2019-2020 and to do so now

I was thinking the same. How do you rate him compared to Remco?
Right away you rate his decision making superior to Remco because he doesn't show up to races that don't suit him.
Just like Remco, Seixas already starting with an outstanding, TT baseline very young.
He just put @15 guys on notice. Del Toro with a decent ride, but it's going to take more than above average to beat powerful Paul.
Seixas will be under immediate pressure from UAE because they put 3 riders in good position after the TT.
Like I said before, a great quality of Seixas is he does his own work, guy has the complete package, The guy makes having few strong teammates less of a liability He can counter almost anything that top @20 riders can throw at him.
Ineos, Bora also will have to really push him. Will UAE flip the script and make Del Toro work for others who put time into him..

If his team is able to support him here this week, which it should be, Seixas will win multiple stages here I think.

Wouldnt be surprised if this guy can actually fight with Vingegaard for second in the Tour this year.

When he came to Tour of California he was already flying. You see in Seixas an obvious lack of maturity, because he is a teenager, but he is also doing things beyond his years as everyone says.
Would he have been brain dead enough to pull through for Pogacar yesterday like other guys who went on instinct instead of intelligence? I don't know, but I just get a feeling that Paul is learning faster than others and he is already so physically gifted that good race sense is all he will need..
He already races with the hunger of a champion and he is @30% younger than Pogacar or Remco..
You also see subtle differences in the way he thinks.. Remco went on for a couple of days about people not working, Vingegaard racing conservative..
Seixas, in a moment said Del Toro was blocking him..after he calmed down he never brought it up again. His frustration and comments immediately after a race that he really wanted were natural for anyone, but especially an emotional teenager, but he just moved on, drama won't help him win
Kid has some Bernard Hinault but blood in him.

This boy is special
At the moment he'very special, but not more special than Pogi, Vingegaard, Evenepoel or VDP.

He'll probably gives some surprising turns to all top contenders when and if he goes to any gt's. But in all fairness, say comparison to Vingegaard in Tour this year, I guess Seixas is not doing Giro for warmup, no? He could, would probably be quite a journey to find new areas in endurance side of things..

Nice itw of Vauquelin after the today's race, he talks about Paul (they both live in the french riviera):
"Finally, the 24-year-old from Normandy gave his opinion on Paul Seixas' performance: "It's just exceptional, but it's Paul (Seixas), he's been on the same trajectory since the beginning, since last year, since the World and European Championships. There's no coincidence, he's just strong and he trains hard. I ride with him, we have coffee, we ride quite a bit with Jordan Jegat and Louis Barré, he's a great guy, we all get along well, racing is racing, we have fun, it's a game, that's all."

Haven’t seen the race myself but nice result. Expect 100km of ITT in the TDF next year
“You’re welcome.”

I dunno…he got second in Strade Bianche, closer than Remco was to Pogacar in RVV. You can’t compare races, but you also look at him tying (?) Pogi’s record on a climb, his demolition of the field here in the ITT, and you begin to wonder, Is he not already way better than Pogacar was at 20, much less 18, but also better than Vingegaard, Remco, and Mvdp already straight up? Hopefully we get to see it play out soon.

What usual level?
Roglic is almost 37 years old, come on...
Roglic was absolutely fantastic today considering his age.
And Paul is just 19, come on... Paul was absolutely fantastic today considering his age. I guess one could wonder; was Roglic as fantastic at 19 as Seixas will be fantastic at almost 37?

Hard to compare exactly as training method are much more professional for Paul than Pogi at the same age and even at 20.

This could mean margin of progression might not be as great as what one could think.

However as I've said it before,no matter what he will be a fantastic rider.

Only if Seixas changes parcours to ski jumping in around his 24's and we look how it went for him as a whole until the age of 37 :D

Paul was great, no doubt.
But I think he's on his way to establish himself as an alien pretty soon, so otherworldy things are expected of him. And, somehow, he's still exceeding our expectations of what an elite 19 year old should be able to do.
