Great ride! And as a teenager.

Normally you would say he needs to get away from a French team but Decathlon are cashed up so maybe this is the coming together of all things.

+1. Things seem to be working very well for him at Decathlon, no need to be rocking that boat for sure, at least for now.

Not just the talent, but some swarthy good looks to go along with it; the French will be goo-goo gaa-gaa over him!

Del Toro and Seixas appear to have a lot in common. Both don't do lots of talking, especially about themselves, instead let their legs do the talking.
Paul Seixas impressed all he raced against today. He showed some good instincts, and unlike the other chase groups, Seixas knows how to pick the right wheels.

I also enjoyed watching his teenage brain start to smoke when Del Toro rode the right race, if you want to cross to Tadej, go for it, I won't help and you , you have to drag me with you. Paul finally settled down and started nibbling at Pogacar minutes, guy rode brilliantly. A couple of FDJ pushes actually helped Seixas more than his own team.
Without Jan Christen and Isaac Del Toro working so hard against Seixas succeeding the race might have been different, it was all UAE could do to cover every time the 19 jumped and when he was pushing hard to cross he looked great, big big motor.
I think all the ---mantle-- rivalry --stuff is just projection from pundits and people who don't know how busy these guys are... From what I see from Isaac and Paul nobody is living rent free in their heads and both look to be concentrating on getting better.
Pidcock made some complimentary comments about UAE but from what I saw, majority of the action was against Paul and other riders who made moves couldn't really sustain anything. Simmons, Jorgenson, Del Grosso, Gregoire, Vermeersch, Healy nobody could hold anything for very long. Del Toro's wheel was not the best today, but none of those other guys could keep it,

But he lost a Giro against a weaker rider. There is no doubt in my mind Del Toro would win the Giro if Carapaz wasn't in the race.

Rumour already has it that UAE is trying to sign Seixas and has a good shot at doing so. Contract negotiations with Decathlon are supposed to be at an impasse.

Would be really bad for the sport if Seixas also joins UAE. We need multiple contenders to Pogacar and later Del Toro.

Hopefully Decathlon has not invested too much in the Kooij/Lund train to still invest in an even better climbing support team for Seixas. But I think that could be the issue, because as of 2027 Seixas should probably get a team at the Tour that is fully in support of him.

Sorry but Mcnulty, Christen and Torres was promised co-leadership in that tour.

I don't think Seixas will leave for UAE during the 2 or 3 coming years. The 2 french sponsors of the team have potentially such financial ressources. This is the Paul Seixas project, with TDF in sight.

Seems like a wild idea to me, people are bound to create such roumors, so I am not so sure what to think of it.
It would make little sense. At UAE Seixas would have to sacrifice leadership for tons of races for example. This won't be the case at Decathlon as it will be his team, much more so than UAE could be for the forseeable future. Also his current team has pretty potent sponsors, so I don't think they'll let the French Messiah go for a random number of millions just now, and I don't see why Seixas should do it.

But the field was heavily deplated already. Yet, Del Toro was dropped in every true mountain in the third week.
Put real Mortirolo in and Del Toro probably doesn't even podium. He was just weaker in the mountains.

Magnificent ride from Seixas. Very clearly the next best rider on the day by a significant margin. Did more work than anyone else and still dusted them every time a selection was made from the chasing groups.

Did exactly the right thing imo in testing his limits physically and mentally by turning himself inside out to try to close to Pogacar when he attacked. It turned out to be a bit of an Icarus moment but he showed outstanding in race recovery to reset and continue to be the 2nd strongest.

As much as I also love Del Toro it would have been very ungracious to steal second place.

Seixas is improving with every race. Itzulia should be a big battle that his trajectory suggests winning is realistic.

Curious now to see if they stick with the announced plan or add any other races prior to LBL.

Decathlon is going to become the Paris Saint-Germain of cycling. They already have an ideal super-domestique in Riccitello for Seixas. Likely have a good shot at getting Valentin Paret-Peintre back from Quick Step if they want to. Lapeira is a handy rider that can become their Lauren Brochard. If someone like Brieuc Rolland or Afonso develops into a big climber Decathlon likely snatches him away from Française des Jeux.

There's absolutely zero reason for Seixas to leave Decathlon. They're the new Festina. The first big French team in decades. Their prospect already looks better than Visma at this point. They took the right gamble with Seixas contrary to Red Bull with Evenepoel it seems.

Plus talk in the peloton is that Van Rysel produces surprisingly good bikes. Maybe not as good as Colnago. But already challenging the likes of Bianchi. Winning over Look!

Riccitello way too small to be an ideal dom. He would not even make the tour team at UAE and probably not visma, maybe edging Kuss based on form but not if both at peak. Felix Gall on the other hand, if he can figure out how to descend...
