A French cycling superstar is much better for the sport than a Slovenian. The day this guy defeats Pogacar and Gianetti will be a good day.
If Pogacar didn't exist I'd be going mad, but we need someone to rival Pogacar badly.
Man, It's worse.Being French will make everything easier for him.

They mutated a rival like Vingegaard who was a domestique without results so that Pogacar would lose two tours. Perhaps they won't mutate a rival for Seixas.

He's not even going to have an evolution; at 19 , they're allowing him to do this that others have had to do with an evolution.

At least, Pogacar was in a mediocre UAE at 2019 and 2020and was human in his beginnings. At Decathlon, Kooij's replacement is beating Philipsen, a mediocre rider like Ces Bol in an incredible shape.

In 2024 Cosnefroy was winning Brabantse beating Wellens and De Lie, and even winning a time trial :tearsofjoy: Look now Cosnefroy at UAE!

Decathlon has been preparing for this since 2024, the Olympic year in Paris. Like Banesto in the 90s and Sky since the London Olympics.

Felix Gall insane Tour in 2024, Cosnefroy. And there were mediocre Decathlon riders with anomalous performance like Prudhome since 2024. Cosnefroy at 2024, ridiculous:

But you said it would be a lot better if Seixas dominated like Pogacar because he is french.
I was thinking purely about the popularity of the sport. Slovenia has a tiny population and doesn't have a huge market. A French TDF winner would bring so much more money and popularity to the sport. Imagine the crowds and viewing figures of the TDF is Sexas won.
It's nothing personal about Pogacar or Slovenia btw, thinking purely about money.

Agree. I find this argument ridiculous because they've taken it a step further.

We've seen Pogacar perform well on a truly mediocre team in 2019 and 2020, having bad days, without teammates in 2019 and 2020 Vuelta and Tour. Today, Decathlon's fourth domestique has destroyed riders like McNulty :tearsofjoy:

At least Pogacar and even so Van der Poel had to evolve into their mutant version when athletes are at their physical peak.Doing this at 19 years it´s a joke.

Remco's junior year and 2019 always seemed not normal to me because at that age the body isn't capable of such a regularity in an endurance sport, but even not normal Remco in 2019 wasn't like this. Pogacar had bad days in 2019 and 2020.

Applauding this because it bothers another cyclist will backfire. If they do this at 19, it will be unparalleled. At least they ruined two Tours de France for Pogacar by transforming a domestique like Vingegaard in a mutant,
Since Seixas is French, he will be allowed to win 8 consecutive titles.

Don't applaud, because you'll miss Lance.

Delighted to discover that there can be several generational talents in each generation. I hope more will emerge soon, so that all we’ll need to do is watch the races in slow motion to rediscover the good old days of cycling.

These aren´t talents, they are laboratory teenagers. Like Lamine Yamal at 17 without fatigue ( with Flick, remember pandemic Bayern), or Carlos Alcaraz.
In cycling it was very unusual to see a teenager without a bad day.

Remco's junior year was completely not normal. At 18, maintaining peak form all year without ever tiring is already difficult to believe at 25-30; so a junior , it's simply absurd.

Morgado was another one who performed like a professional throughout his junior year, all year, every race with a endurance being a kid.

But Seixas's performance is absurd. Last year his level was already outrageous; I thought they'd keep it that way for a couple of years. He won the Porvenir with some difficulty, and then they raised his level for the Autumn . But what he's done this year at 19 is unparalleled.

It's scary and i find it a bit sad. Where cycling is at again.

Thinking back, it's a bit like a young ullrich that also came out of a lab.
He couldn't handle the mental aspect though.
(lol @TrekCyclist , seems we thought of the same thing)

We'll just have to accept this new reality and find some enjoyment in the show.

What the hell happened in 2020 and where did these young aliens come from.....
This sport is increasingly looking like a play where cyclists play puppet roles, now a mutant opponent has been created for Pogi and the Dane

His progression is incredible: compare him to last year (or even last autumn). Its clear that French guys arent paniagua anymore. What is Paul's porridge? Maybe just coca cola and rice?
They have ordered more of that stuff from outer space, a special delivery is on its way back to earth.

Barcelona Olympics: Martin Fiz and the mutant version of Indurain.

London Olympics: Mo Farah and Froome.

Paris Olympics: Leon Marchand and Paul Seixas.

Until 2024, Bisiaux was better; it seems Seixas tolerated the Olympics' potion better. In 2024 he took a thermonuclear step forward.
Even so, he won the Avenir by half a minute over Widar, and Fin and Pericas were next to him on some days just a year ago. Now is far to superior to all the peloton except Pogacar.

At lest, Pogacar has reached this peak level at the zenith of an athlete who is between 25 and 30 years. At least, Pogacar was inconsistent at 20.

Even Remco, whose performance was also suspect because of the unusually consistent at 18 and 19, wasn´t as consistent in 2019. Seixas all 2026 with mutant version.

No one in cycling has ever achieved this level of physical consistency at 19.

At 20, the body isn't capable of handling this.
They've gone too far; no one believes this at 19. It's already difficult to belive at peak athletic (25-30 years) , but at 19? It's a joke.
Don't forget the wintersports. 2030 Winter Olympics in France, they're already absolutely dominating women's biathlon and this year they ripped up the men's competition too, while also dominating the IBU Cup with their reserves too - and in the XC there was Mathis Desloges' incredible Olympic form in Italy. Jacquelin riding with Decathlon only furthers the connection between whatever the hell they're doing in the biathlon to be the only team that never rested any of their stars before the Olympics, and still be the best skiers there by far AND the freshest at the end of the championships.

And although everybody got moody with me for being a downer about it, we oughtn't forget Pauline Ferrand-Prévot returning with insane superpeaking to make sure SHE can be the first French winner of all the new big French women's races before any of the new generation arrives.
