I wouldnt discard them signing anyone just yet...
If gillette is indeed the major sponsor, this team will have BULK cash behind them. Don't know about the rest of the world, but here in oz our gillette ads feature(d): tiger woods, Roger federer and Thierry Henry. In addition, they also sponsor Michael Clarke (the future Australian cricket captain, also the next "big thing" since his debut and the "glamour boy" thereafter). If they continue their trend in sponsoring the most highest of profile athletes (and their perceived "glamour" status) I wouldn't be surprised if these guys had the (marketing) credentials to sign cancellara and even anyone off contract whom he deemed worthy to support him. (which seems to be a main concern of his).

+1 agree craig and lets add G.Brown into the mix....i want front row seats...

Why ruin it with someone as slow as Brownie?

Bos and Kersten are both former track sprinters, Cavendish is a freaky fast roadie...Brownie is just an ok road sprinter, enduro track rider, who can't ride straight in a sprint.

Yes those Gillette ads were made in Australia. They paid Federer to just do the Australian commercials.

Who are kidding??!! Those ads were made in the US for the world. I don't think they care about Australia. Hardly are center of revenue for the company.

All that was said was that those ads are shown in Australia. There was no reference whatsoever of where they were made.

How about giving us some sort of source for this kind of thing? Because otherwise it does tend to sound as if you made it up......

Susan

Well he has been 100% right so far with all his transfer news with Fly V. He had Traksel going to Fly V before any media outlet had a clue about it.

Maybe you can tell the people at Cyclingnews to not be always the last cycling media source to report an actual transfer or a rumour. e.g. Taylor phinney or tim roe.

Rohregger is a good signing for Pegasus though in Rupert Guinness' article he claims that Rohregger is an overall GT contender.

Awesome news. Will be a top rider, is he the best climber announced so far?

Goss...wow if true. Goss + McEwen in sprints will be very competitive.

I did read right before, 8 riders are making the transition from Fly V to Pegasus, Zjaciek (sp) has been named too.

He's good at redistributing rumours.

No, please keep Cyclingnews a trustworthy internet cycling news site. Most sites are just picking up (mis)information and do not verify it, do not print sources nor do any background checking.

Rohregger is a great signing and Dennis too. If Gossy is on board then that is a their biggest signing so far. Fast sprinter and future northern classics star too. He has come 3rd in KBK and in Gent Wevelgem when he was 21 and 22 and he is only 23 now. Wouldn't mind a source to confirm that signing but I have to recognise that you have got them all right so far.

For me If Gossy can lead the classics (even though i dont think he can win them yet) then the team is just missing a major GT contender. No off-contract really comes to mind unless Chris White wants to be the one to risk Kim Kirchin's life.

The best GT contenders who are still free for the next year are Cobo, Rujano, Rogers or maybe Kashechkin. Not much riders to choose.

Voeckler would be a great signing however he is not a GT GC contender. They might be better without one for the 1st year anyway and just shoot for stage wins. Other interesting guys that might become free for the mountains are Pierre Rolland and Anthony Charteau. I think Saur-Sojasun could have a field day on those guys though

Rujano wont join because he made it clear he wants to join a team that will definately ride the Giro.

Rogers is where my hopes lie but I am afraid that he has already signed with Sky or somwhere else.

Cobo would be useful but im pretty sure riding with Piepolli and Ricco doesn't give you a good rep.

Kasheckhin is useless

Even when they have been made official it takes them at least 24 hours for them to report it. Tim Roe's and phinney's transfers were up on te bmc site so clearly it was a proper source because it came from the team. There are many more examples.

CN being a professional newsite, there's no way they can validate a rumour or write an article about it quicker than someone just posting the information as they hear it. No use complaining acf94.

I have read your post(s) ergo why I replied to it. I realise in this day and age that simple people want quick and instant journalism but that isn't necessarily a good thing. As long as CN gets the news out then I see no problem. I can list numerous reasons why other sites (particularly non-english sites) may post some information before CN. Try to think of the reason why, instead of just slamming them.

I would hardly call my post SLAMMING! Other english sites such as VELONEWS have the information up a lot quicker. People want their news straight away and people will buy, watch or read the media outlet which is the fastest. I was merely wondering why it takes CN so long. Also I rebutted Susan because DAOTEC has been spot on with his news even though it has not had a linked source.
