Jayco Skins is a cycling team in Australia full of the AIS young talented kids.

Cycling Australia are behind a team that will more than likely be sponsored by Jayco - a new entity. The Jayco Skins team would be the feeder team.

Cycling Australia aren't behind Pegasus, but are behind this new team to hit the block.

And if you think about it, it actually makes sense.

You have the top coaches at the AIS. They will have someone like Dave Sanders on to train these young kids. That is a more hopeful way than Pegasus. Jayco Skins do the Australian races develop these young athletes. Instead of them going off to join another team, they could potential join the senior team who will be aiming to race in Europe and Australian's cycling governing body is behind it.

That will be a more successful team than Pegasus.

Jayco will have nothing to do with Pegasus - guaranteed.

Gerry Ryan (owner of jayco) has said this evening on the 6pm bulletin of nine news that he wis aiming to have an australian team in the tour de france by 2012. Gerry Ryan is a proper businessman who will do a proper job.

That's a big ask. It's only two years away. Less. I have got a lot of respect for Gerry Ryan and Jayco, though, so if anyone can do it maybe he can.

what was it about mateship he said? What do Ozzies think of mates? Is it the concept similar to Michael Ball of Rock Racing?

I think he said Mates are great at taking big pay cuts to keep their jobs.

Pegasus could very well end up like Rock Racing and I wouldn't be surprised if it does.

I do not paint a future for Pegasus if Cycling Australia get behind another team.

Im guessing those race invites have just turned into un-invites

How on earth has chris white managed to **** this up so incredibly.

The UCI statement says taking into account the opinion of Ernst and Young. Im willing to bet their Creative accounting over the UCI bank payment has bitten them on the ****.

I really feel for the riders. They deserve better than what Chris White and co have provided. I hope they can get sorted out for next year but the big question is, which teams have space on their roster to take the riders?

TRAKSEL Bobbie < Vacansoleil Pro Cycling Team - Someone should pick him up based on that one win

well, the fat lady is singing.....so now what?
it seems like the writing has been on the wall for a while so I hope the riders have some contingency plans.

The question is, how did a team that was a still-birth, managed to have a thread with almost 900 replies.

sadly inevitable. It has been on the cards for weeks/months. Questions must be asked as to how Chris White has managed to mess this up so incredibly badly? Be interesting to see what bull he comes up with in response to this news.

I guess the final straw for the UCI was the plan to get the riders to take a pay cut in order to ensure the funds were funds were available for licence guarantee.

Has to be hoped that some of the riders are able to pick up a ride elsewhere, although at such short notice it could be tricky.

Easy. Its either American or Australian. In this case Australian.

British too but at least in case of sky, it's rather a success story.
It seems that anglosaxons are always more supportive and excited about their respective cycling projects

No i dont think british. Not on this forum anyway. As someone pointed out Gerraint Thomas has achieved pretty much as much as Taylor Phinney.

Which one has 2 threads with a grand total of 200 posts, and which one doesnt?

And we didnt get any threads about a average British rider who has no contract.
