Sure, he did his job well. He’s supposed to be there in the last third of the race to join a dangerous move or chase a dangerous move. He did that. But Bora’s model is supposed to be that they have three or four guys doing that, even if they don’t have a squad of potential winners like DCQ. None of the other guys even made the first big select group quite early in the race except Oss and Oss disappeared a long way from home without doing anything much. Juraj was probably the second most useful domestique. He got dropped early, but when the peloton reunited for a while, he did close a gap or two before getting dropped again.

He Looks fat, washed up and pretty old out there compared to his former self. Not convinced he 'll ever get back into his old shape.
I wouldn't rule out that he wins PR, however. And yes, the whole team looked bad (apart from maybe Pöstlberger).
Whether it be sickness or not being 100%... every rider has these types of seasons where they struggle a bit once in a while. Even a rider like Sagan. It can be a number of factors that is the cause for that. Everybody is human.
I think his attitude that he is aware about it and doing what he can is a healthy mindset. Hopefully he will find his momentum soon and win some races. That he is still up there without being in great form is at least some assurance that his ability is not gone. Just need to catch a break and he will be back to winning ways, hopefully.

i wouldn't be so worried about him, he's risen from the bottom once, he can certainly do it again. The bottom is quite high though. How many cyclist would love to have their top where his bottom has been so far. However, to me it looks like they gambled a little bit with his form timing and the virus got unfortunately the timing better of them. If it was slovak politics, someone would say Lefevre sneezed on his breakfast

One can hardly be surprised, that his form is "low" in Sagan measures, where he practically has 4 full speed racedays this year. You can't count the january exhibitions.
However, even without the virus they could have miscalculated little bit. Stybar was probably one or two weaks early, sagan might have it the other way.
If sagan doesn't win nothing serious this year apart the green, then worries might be open, if he will be able to return in 2020, because if not, he might end his carrier, but it's to soon for that. For all we know, he may find his day in roubaix and then confirm it in the Amstel, and everything will be ok again. If we read the discussion from year ago, we would find the very same questions, his shape is bad, good overall, but not the beast he used to be, and then he drove everybody of his wheel in roubaix.

Also back in the 80s hockey was popular and played on high level only in Canada, Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia, Sweden, USA and Finland started to rise. Even from Slovak hockey players Stan Mikita (born in Slovakia) or Vladimir Dzurila could be considered all time better than him. Sagan accomplished what no one had ever done in cycling before him - to win 3 consecutive WRRC. Peter Stastny did no such thing.
As much as I like Sagan, other than the three WC wins and the green Jerseys, so far he only won two monuments. Even Oscar Freire has three WC and three monuments. Sagan has many wins, but his monuments wins are rather disappointing so far. Even Boonen and Cance both have 7 wins.
