Agree with you, his head turning left too often, probably more than a twitch.

It's the voices in his head! "Lance, Lance you're digging a hole, Lance, a large hole"

I'm sure he's having that reoccurring dream when you're trying to cross a busy highway and there's cars bearing down on you but your legs won't move.

I'm with you. Most pass Phil off as a doddering old fool.

But what we see in the clip was premeditated, calculated and very nasty. He's knows exactly what he's doing.

Phil's got something to hide. He knows the score and is up to his neck in it.

What's he hiding? I'm not sure but it's not good.

Totally agree with this. Never thought of Phil as being significant, now I do.

That letter from Ashenden is potent. I wonder if Phil will even reply.

Most effective tweet and retweet being “Phil is a intern troll or YOU are BPC”.
Not possible. Those letters from McQuaid to USADA and WADA proves he is BPC.

...Does he [Lance] have a breaking point, and if so, where is it?

No.

He'll never admit to doping as long as it's against his financial and legal interests to do so (assuming that he did, in fact, dope. b/c if he didn't, then of course he would never admit to it.).

If at some point things shifted and it became obvious that his financial and legal interests would be better served by an admission of guilt (assuming he was, in fact, guilty), then that admission could be expected in very short order.

As for Phil, however, the phrase about being hoisted upon one's own petard comes to mind. Previously you could complain in only general terms about Ligget but without anything egregious and specific to point to when suggesting to broadcasters and event promoters/managers that they not hire him. Now he's served up the perfect justification for never paying him another dollar to serve as "a voice" (not "the" voice) in cycling...

Not really that shocked. He's ridden on the corrupt back of LA's scheme for some time.

I first suggest you contact and put pressure on the cycling media. You can start right here at CN, asking them why this isn't on the front page, and request someone pressure Phil for answers. Do the same for every other cycling media outlet you can think of. Any sports media outlet you can think of that even covers cycling from time to time. Birds of a feather...media is acquainted with one another. Reporters and journalists need to distance themselves from Phil and his absurd claims and comments, or be put on the hot seat themselves.

I also suggest you pile on the pressuring comments on that YouTube video. Also in any comment section to any articles referencing it. Post early and often. Go ahead and open up both barrels here!

As to his employer, Phil is likely working under a sub contract for NBC/Universal here in the USA. They have a Contact Us page here. I don't know how far that will get you though.

Finally, I would suggest that when you write to any of these people you don't just lash out rudely, but try to be civilized and starkly remind them that his comments were inexcusably way out of line, and questionably legal, especially for an established journalist who is supposed to be objective. I would also suggest, especially writing to NBC/Universal, that P&P be dismissed and NBC hire back Steve Schlanger and Todd Gogulski full time, as they covered cycling for a while before NBC bought cycling from Versus. Schlanger was a bit excitable, but Gogulski is very knowledgeable, a great announcer, a former pro cyclist, and was always objective.

CN did an excellent article on the perpetuation of Omerta.

The United States of Omerta

Lance looks rattled, worried, and under pressure in that little clip of him. It appears to me he is having to work very hard at believing the truth of what he actually saying himself.

I wonder how far he can go? Can he go on forever in the face of overwhelming evidence, and legal and public opinion?

Does he have a breaking point, and if so, where is it?

I missed Masterracers post originally and just saw the video: facial expressions remind me of Bill Clinton during his most famous speech.

Liggett has spoken today, sent out a twitter message saying he has no business interests with Armstrong and asking cyclingnews.com to retract the story.

He also sent out another message saying he has not seen or spoken to Armstrong for 15 months.

Didn't someone here have a pic of them on a stage together last September?

Don't worry Dim tweeted the picture of them together last Sept.

Why would he ask for the story to be retracted? He's asking for his own statements to be retracted?

The gold mine shows up, along with Liggett and Sherwen on that chart of Armstrong's business interests that Dim put together over on Velorooms.

Yep, saw that now, but am looking for the sauce er source :D

This sounds like someone actually involved with the business, defending some of the business actions, and using the presence in the deal of Sherwen and Armstrong as proof that the decisions being made are valid.

Phil is attempting to pull rank

Thinks his awarding by the Queen of an MBE gives him some societal authority :)

Matt Keenan taking liggets side

Laura_Weislo When will we see your @philliggett correction/retraction on Twitter from @Cyclingnewsfeed? That would be "appropriate".

why is the fake mat keenan the one who is getting constant tweets from the other australian "commentators"?

Can you link to one?

I see the opposite, with sophie smith and michelle cound conversations. Fake matt keenan sends tweets to others but they do not seem to respond.

My impression after a very quick look.
