I find it hard to believe that someone who has not only been involved in the sport for so long but so close to the riders would not know what was going on. It sounds like the majority of the media knew, to some extent, what was going on but were fearful of saying anything for either getting sued or losing access to their cash cow.

That said, he does seem to now be going slightly senile and it is time to give someone else the chance to help look after the suitcase of courage.

I don't see that as a feasible option being someone in his position. He either knew what was going on or was plain stupid.

I say senile. I think his commentary and comments in the past show him as gullible and rather stupid over the past decade. He use to be rather good commentator from what I have heard of him and he sometimes does a good job but he makes many mistake and dumb comments.

It's a good question you raise and I am yet to give an answer as I am not quite sure. It is difficult to fathom that the guy can be so damn stupid. I mean to go and make a statement about Lance's friend from Boulder, Colarodo that told him about peculiar agents who approached him and offered guaranteed retirement funding if he fessed up about Armstrong and EPO use.

Surely Armstrong knew how stupid Ligget was and asked/paid his friend to tell Ligget that bulls hit story knowing that Ligget would eat it for breakfast. There are many other comments that Ligget has made in recent weeks to suggest that something is seriously wrong inside his cranium.

Absolutely a liar. No one that close to Lance and professional cycling could be conned. I find it hard to believe any athlete could be conned. First time I saw him race I said no way that is real.
However for Phil at present, his brain is been destroyed by alcohol.
