I was very annoyed seeing Devolder so far in the back, especially with his first crash because he should have been much more in front on the Molenberg.
The second time, it was a lot of bad luck as he was clearly moving in the peloton at the 2nd Kwaremont ascent.
GvA is one of the very best classic riders but he really seems not be smart enough to finish things off. Like when he tried to drop Vandenbergh after Kwaremont... why? Just keep pacing. Vandenbergh was maybe annoying, but never a treat and he shouldn't have bothered. In the end, despite of some unnecessary efforts, GvA could still have won, but he and Vanmarcke didn't dare to start a tail wind sprint with 200mtrs to go... It is like they didn't dare to go for the win... A shame, but hopefully they have learnt for next sunday.
