Also the Swiss, some of the British, Rui Costa and Oliveira for Portugal.

Might just be wanting to stay out of trouble because of the rain. I doubt Switzerland and Portugal will be trying to close anything down.

Poland down to 6 in front over the finish line although one extra rider has joined them since.

Well, Wisniowski is "only" a U23-rider. I dobt he is used to racing 254 kilometers a day. It was a good decision to use his efforts while they lasted.

X2, the lack of transponder time in races is really annoying.

País Vasco and Castilla y León used them around 2011-12, it was very useful especially in sprint stages, as you got instant results. It felt like watching skiing.

Not always transponder times are correct, though. Especially in close sprint finishes considering they are usually in the back of the bike. I think organisers use them, they just don't show the results imedeately.

There was a harder circuit for this World Championships with one climg of more than 10 %. The organizers wanted it for the race but UCI didn't want to do it.

Members of UCI prefer easy circuits. I'm not going to say my opinion about them but it's no good.

Next year, looks like the World Championships circuit is going to be for sprinters.

Not surprised to see the UCI make stupid decisions such as this one. Happens more often than not.
