Kudos to Wiggo. Certainly not my favorite but one cannot dispute the ride.

Poor Tony :(

I can't describe my admiration for Wiggo in just a simple post.

Perhaps the most divers champion of his time. What a man, what a great rider!

"sometimes"

Men are irrational too at times.

Sometimes you are irrational :)

What that has to do with women (or men) is beyond me. It was a sexist remark that perpetuates stereotyping.

Btw people from Britain can you please please please stop with handing out that sir title? It's pathetic.

Arnout said:
I suppose. Still, it's archaic and handing it out to random sports people means it loses all value regardless.

Are there any other countries whose domestic affairs you patronisingly interfere with?

Ewwww this is disgusting. Ugh. Poor Tony.

Come on, just realise the fact Sir Brad is actually one of the few characters of the sport, and a great champion.

I thought Kerrison was a swimming coach not a diving coach.

The fact that Brailsford spoke of dominating the sport is the reason I root for him to fail. The Sky riders for the most part don't bother me, it's just Brailsford and his attitude just rubs me the wrong way.

This. I agree that is a good sum of my anti-Sky bias. But I do like Wiggo, Thomas, Swifty and many British riders. Not Froome though, yuck, his book and he seems phony to me.

Great performance by Wiggo today! Nice to see him in rainbow jersey :D
He earned it, and it's nice for him after being left out of TdF.

I don't feel too badly for Tony. While I was glad to see him finally break Fabian's streak, I am also ready for Tony to have a little more competition too. I don't like it when one guy dominates for too long. And Wiggo isn't likely to have a string of wins due to his age (and turning back towards the track, etc.)

So for me, this was a nice change, and next year we'll be back to Tony again, or Dumoulin, or whoever. Or maybe Taylor Phinney will develop just a bit more.

Froome to ride World TT next year? I think he could win it.

Don't see that happening. Plus the Worlds is in the USA next year. . . .

I'm suprised by the result. Either Martin was weaker than normally, or the field was stronger than normally. So many people within 1/2 minutes.
Wiggins winning is not a huge suprise ofcourse but still a little upset.
Dumoulin much closer to Martin than I anticipated but also Kiryenka and Dennis very good. Happy that Dumoulin got his podium place though!

Don't worry. Dumoulin will be better in 2 years.

All aristocratic or sub-aristocratic titles are revolting, but ones handed out to people for riding a bike are less revolting than ones that are inherited or handed out for being a plutocrat or slaughtering natives.

This seems like a good possibility - especially when you consider the TTT results also. Wonder if he's been a bit sick, or just over-raced this year, or what.

The salient point is: if Britain wants to have titles, then Britain will have them. All other considerations are irrelevant. You don't have to call him "Sir" if you don't want to.

Looking at Wiggins and Kiryienka's performances Sky really should have won the Team Time Trial. They just needed a fit Thomas and Froome showing up and they'd have won it pretty easily.

Yeah.. I think he dug deep one ot two times to much this season..
He was more active than ususal in both Tour-Vuelta..

Not that Wiggins is to blame for it of course...

based on "little" time Martin gain on others I think he was just tired after long hard season behind him

Remember two years ago he only beat Taylor Phinney by 5 seconds to win the worlds. He's not quite the unbeatable force that he's made out to be.

Lol, Wiggo is the least diverse rider in the peloton. He does one thing very very well
