That was weird. It was like the sprint was in slow motion or something. I guess a lot of Tour fatigue. In other words, in Poland you know it's a sprint finish, but here it looked like one of those medium mountain stages that Albasini or Valverde usually win.

It gets raced really hard I think, which is visible by the amount of guys that get doubled. They use every samll slope in the street for attacks, which makes for a nice viewing experience I think!

Sbaragli could have easily won that, but he wanted to protect his lead in the top-10 competition

Kiddesvej tomorrow. Unfortunately can't be there (yeah, lives in DK...), but should be a good race as usual. Hoping for Christoffer Juul Jensen, super nice and funny guy and a very good blogger, although it's at hipster Rouleur

Tomorrow's stage is very similar to Amstel Gold Race.

How good is Boom in Ardennes-like terrain?

Well his Ardennes triple results are: never started FW, never finished LBL (DNF in 2012), and of his four AGR participations, three were DNFs (2010, 2013 and 2015) and he only finished once, coming 96th in 2012. However, he came 5th in the 2012 world championships road race that featured the Cauberg - he was behind Valverde and Degenkolb in the big group that finished five seconds down on Gilbert and one after EBH.

He's also won the ZLM tour stage to La Gileppe (which features Ardennes climbs) so he's not that bad at it. I hope for Bak to take over the GC though.

Ah ok. I've always thought he was more of a GVA/Stybar type of rider, but it seems he's more of an engine who can surprise in hilly terrain.

Boom is very explosive. Like basically every cyclocrosser. He'll have no problems on hilly terrain like tomorrow against Bak or Juul Jensen.

He also dropped Ivanov, who won AGR in the same year, in the Tour of Belgium ardennes stage of 2009. He also won the overall that year. Plus ofcourse vuelta stage win on a much harder terrain with a long climb, winning from a break.

To be fair that was the last time we saw Boom climb that well.
He can do hills pretty good aslong as there ain't too many.

He can still do it on a good period.. he has these like once a year..

Unfortunately Boom doesn't his profession that seriously in training etc... it has to be all fun. With the right mentality he would've gotten more out of his career. He is riding on almost only pure talent

And now Nordhaug is out of the race with a broken collarbone by the looks of it. And Fuglsang out of contention for the stage win as well.
