coming 3rd in a vuelta TT for the first time in his carrier, including national TT.:confused::confused:

Only 7 posts in this thread so far.

i have only one thing to say.

If froome is alien, then we have a monster at hand. part 2 of today's story in next GT, where alien and monster will fight among themselves. "the battle will be epic".

Transparent reference to Froome, heh.

You see, there's only 7 posts in this thread because there's practically no controversy. No one's saying Pozzovivo is clean (no, not LS either). If that hurts, stop to think why some other threads get so big.

Well, let's not forget that he was pretty bad on the climb two days ago, which on paper should have suited him perfectly. Pozzovivo has always been a guy who has a monster day now and then, but he's never been very consistent. Let's wait a bit before we start calling him an alien...

I,m sayin nothin :)

Today was the first time he's done something really surprising in terms of his standard of performance since you started this thread.

The thread was started to highlight that Domenico Pozzovivo is probably doping (which was probably correct) because he had done something totally unexpected for Domenico Pozzovivo in winning a mountain stage in Italy (which was totally false). Domenico Pozzovivo could well have been doping for years, but the thread was created out of your total ignorance of several years of his performance. This doesn't mean that you are vindicated by his doing something even more suspicious, because you still started the thread under false pretences.

For comparison, if I started a thread about Joaquím Rodríguez doping because he climbed well in Paris-Nice in 2010, it would make me look like an idiot because of his being twice in the top 10 of the Vuelta based entirely on mountain performances and while not being a team leader and being a GT KOM winner before that. If J-Rod had then stormed the 2010 Vuelta ITT with a shocking performance, that would vindicate my opinion that J-Rod was a doper, however all those people who thought I was a fool for ignoring his Vuelta climbing performances would still be correct :)

Utter stupidity by him to think that he will put an excellent performance and people will take it for granted. These days every performance is looked into for anything suspicious. Even the commentators were exasperated at the Unbelievable performance though initial suspicion was that the timing was wrong. To beat Nibali in the mountains would still be ok but to beat him in a TT is too much. Hope he gets caught.

That's just taking into account the times for the climb.

He also had the best split after 18 km. He was 5s behind Cancellara at the 11.5K point but had a 10s (or something like that) advantage over Cancellara after 18 km.

Is it? Normally points in an ITT are for the first rider, not the fastest. (At least it has been that way before)

They posted the times at the top of the climb on the tv coverage. Pozzovivo was fastest (just over 31 mins I think) narrowly ahead of Cancellara

Another explanation for Pozzo, he is Rujano height.

Today was 23-28 degrees. Whole week has been around 30 degrees even the climbs around 20.

That suits him a hell of a lot more than the sub polar -subtropical highland, conditions he usually gets at the giro.

Especially since Pozzo has always given off the impression of being a very fragile rider. He's fallen ill a lot, or been hurt in crashes. His challenges at the giro often fell on this.

Now that he rides in conditions that suit him more, this could provide quite some boost.

Last I knew he rode for Colnago because they afforded him the freedom to finish his masters degree. Still during that time he showed he could climb. At 5'2" or so and 100lbs he's suited for it. Now he's riding for a WT team with more resources and I'm assuming more training time I'm not surprised he's riding well.
